It's still a good show without Rie Matsumoto directing but so far that extra something that put it over the top to a great show for me is missing. It wasn't quite as fast paced and Leo just came across as way more childish in this episode. On the other hand, it is good to see more of the other characters. One of the faults of the first season is that the side characters kind of came and went without real introduction so it could get confusing. We'll see how it goes. Maybe once we get more into the overarching plot, I'll like this direction better.

I think I'm going to agree with others that it was a good episode, but perhaps not on the same level as the 1st season. I did like seeing Libra members like Chain get more to do though, as I recall it was mainly Klaus and Zap who got the most time last season. I was at first worried that some of the heart of the show was lost, however I liked the pep talk that the representative gave Leo.

All in all I think it was a good opening, and I'm looking forward to seeing more. I understand that this season will put more focus on Leo's sister, so it will be interesting to see more on that.

Glad to see BBB back with it's absolute absurdity and sweet soundtrack.

I am going to disagree with the others. Just from this first episode, I feel great things from this season are coming. First season was so emotional and this episode feels like it's going to be a really good adventure.

Also do people not remember and realize the actual mental state and mind fuck that Leo had to experience and go through first season? I am glad to see him being lively and not a completely sullen scrub.

So glad to have this show back. I still feel like first season got overshadowed by the delay and too many people overlooked it.

A real shame for them.

Even though the anime-original story was what I liked most about season 1, the manga-based episodic shenanigans were always so lively so it's great to see that's still the case in season 2. The music is also better than I remembered other than the OP & ED, but season 1's OP & ED were just so good I wasn't expecting the new ones to beat them anyway. I hope the new director and script writer can add to the story like the previous ones did since that's what made season 1 so great and turned the show into the perfect example of how to change an anime adaptation for the better.

I never realized how much I missed seeing Leo and everyone at Libra dealing with the most absurd situations on a daily basis. This episode even started out with a ton of people falling from the sky with monsters on their heads and then had other people chasing a politician's severed head across the city. This is the weekly dose of crazy I need.

Yeah, this was about as quirky and cool like I remembered it to be.

A lot of people are down about Rie Matsumoto not being involved anymore, but I mean this still holds up just fine like the first season did. Looking forward to seeing what Bones will do with this new season of BBB

Yeah I agree. I was ready to be disappointed with the new director and script writer, but honestly I thought this episode was amazing. It's still got all the charm of the first season, the soundtrack is of course fantastic and the animation is nothing to laugh at. Just seeing the whole crew again was so fun, Saturday's are gonna be great.

I feel so confused.

I watched all of first season and honestly cannot remember ANYTHING but the end. With the graveyard and the guy with his...sister I think, in the hospital. I remember some carchase episode with a blue van, and them talking about something standing on a bridge over the portal, bats came out of it I think.

Thats about it. None of the cast stuck with me accept punching guy and the woman in the black suit that could jump around alot.

Guess I have to watch it again :/

JUst watched it last night and I thought it was fine even though it resume its madness LOL with Leonardo Watch being more sillier and geeky than ever

It pretty much showed that the quirky madness continued inspite of thwarting a major disaster in the first season.
I havent read the manga after the first season but I think it will slow down in the next episode and on to the next main plot of the story.

The funny things is the main thought I had watching this ....is that I can cosplay as Leonardo again since he wears the same outfit

Femt cooking bacon and eggs for breakfast, while casually making monsters on the side. What a boss. Hope he's more prominent this season; as opposed to just the occasional appearances in Season 1.

Leonardo's priorities though. Buying X-Station over increasing his sister's allowance... Didn't feel too bad when his apartment was blown up. On a side note, Leonardo's journey could have been a lot easier if Chain just carried him and hopped over to Federal Hall. Though I suppose Libra was stalling, for all the schemers to show, until the appointed time.

The director (and some other staff) might have changed but I felt a more electrified for this episode than Season 1's first episode. I'd reserve judgment, for the staffing changes, until we see more episodes.

I just watched the first ep of season one, and while Neo-itis gets tiring, especially when the MC is a guy, I like the premise. The art style is nice too.

I'd almost forgotten how enjoyable this show is to watch. Glad to see season 2 is as rambunctious as ever.

Ok I love this series. It's mildly humorous, weird, violent and all around a good romp.

Also, holy crap, was that
