So for the last... 4? 5? hours I haven't even been able to log onto Crunchyroll. I kept getting Cloudflare error messages no matter what I tried, what cookies I deleted or what browser. (I tried IE11, Chrome and Firefox - I'm on a PC)

So now after hours of trying without success, I can log in but when I click on a episode link something screws up then I get a message about Chromecast (WTH? I don't HAVE Chromecast) so now I still can't actually watch anything.

Seriously, what the hell guys because it sure doesn't seem to be a client-side issue!

Same problems here. Website also seems to be broken. Its been like this for about two hours for me, I'd say. Just an estimate though I'm not sure.

Not sure if its an issue on my end, though.

Screencaps below.

Its because they have cheap servers. They seriously need to upgrade.

That and the servers got overloaded just because of a Dragon Ball Super episode which shouldn't even be possible, they must not be able to handle that much bandwidth if all it takes is a spike in popularity over an episode.

What grinds my gears is the shameless and inappropriate advertising of the worthless VRV site (during the overloaded screens) they have in the works, sorry but I don't plan on spending more than $6.95 a month when CR can't even get better servers to prevent the overloading, I'm not spending $9.99 just so I can get premium on VRV, that is a rip off, I shouldn't have to spend more than I already am.

You don't have to. Link your CR account to a new account on VRV, and you'll be able to watch CR content (but nothing else) commercial free on VRV:
http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2017/02/23/crunchyroll-account-linking-now-available-on-vrv

You won't be paying a penny more, you'll simply have an additional place to watch.

I only said that last night because when I made the account and linked my CR account it said I didn't have premium but when I logged back in just now it now says I have premium.

Would be great if the list on VRV was similar to CR and that there wasn't a stupid watch list limit, currently CR is several times better than VRV, the way the shows are listed and the limited watch list make it inferior to CR and not worth using at all.

So as it stands VRV is garbage and should be avoided, I would like to delete the VRV account but I don't see an option to do that.

Too bad they don't have the latest episodes of Dragon Ball Super the night they air to off load some of the traffic so I don't know why they try to send people there. That along with the fact that neither CR nor VRV are working for those of us who use a Roku TV. Still stuck in "Retrieving" with no answers in sight the same position for 6 months
