I am fully aware of the fact that people mostly use Crunchyroll in order to watch anime. Talking to people and making friends is only secondary (if it does happen). However, I am assuming that there is a decent amount of folks who do like using CR to communicate with other anime and manga fans. I wonder how those individuals have managed to get in contact with other persons who frequent the CR forums. What do you think? Surely there are some people here that you talk to. How did you go about meeting new people on CR?

Well I always offer my friendship to almost anyone on Skype. I love meeting as many people as possible. As time goes on and we talk more I may or mayn't offer up my skype or join a discord chat with them depending on how the friendship grew during a certain period of time. It all starts with the word Hello.

And what leads to the uttering of the word "Hello"? Things do not happen in a vacuum -- one party has to take the initiative.

I've never really made any friends here, even though I've been active for about a year. It's quite sad really.

I advertise my earnest intentions of befriending others, via a show of my flirtatious and gregarious nature. I go around and propose forum marriage, try to adopt forum imoutos, state how adorables I find a forumer, and make witty comments in discussion.

It works quite well, since by the estimate of the latest polls, I am everyone's favorite Onii Chan!

So, Nalaniel...you're beautiful. Marry me, and become my imouto for life!

Yeah, I almost didn't even interact in the Forums. I guess the majority of us just use CR as a streaming platform and we ignore its social features.

._.

Why hello there!

Funny to run into you on this side of the internet. <.<

How do you meet internet-type people on CR, you ask? Well, back when I did try to "approach" people here on CR, I would usually stalk the forums and find profiles that piqued my interest. An interesting profile with enough similarities with my own interests would at least make starting the conversation easy, since it would give me plenty of talking points.

I would always send a private message, before trying to friend them. In the message, I explain what caught my attention, and then specifically make the request for friendship. >.> This might sound cheesy, but I think it goes a long way when you make you intentions known right off the bat.

Just ask
Obviously no one's going to say yes if they have no idea who you are

But if you post and talk on the forums and then just ask (send them a message and a buddy request) and there you go.
Then just keep talking to them.
