I am fully aware of the fact that people mostly use Crunchyroll in order to watch anime. Talking to people and making friends is only secondary (if it does happen). However, I am assuming that there is a decent amount of folks who do like using CR to communicate with other anime and manga fans. I wonder how those individuals have managed to get in contact with other persons who frequent the CR forums. What do you think? Surely there are some people here that you talk to. How did you go about meeting new people on CR?

I advertise my earnest intentions of befriending others, via a show of my flirtatious and gregarious nature. I go around and propose forum marriage, try to adopt forum imoutos, state how adorables I find a forumer, and make witty comments in discussion.

It works quite well, since by the estimate of the latest polls, I am everyone's favorite Onii Chan!

So, Nalaniel...you're beautiful. Marry me, and become my imouto for life!

Onii chan You have favoritism.

Favoritism? Whatever do you mean, Empress Imouto?

That depends entirely on whether you click with other people or not.

I dont really deal with crunchyroll people anymore. Used to have a lot of friends though i'm not sure I can call them that. More like acquaintances I thought of as friends. My relationships werent all that great. Pretty unhealthy now that I think back. People who barely wanted to talk to me or get to know me. People who wouldnt ever put much effort in for me. People I put too much effort into and got too attached to. Now that they're all out of my life I have to be honest. I dont miss them. There was one I missed for a long time. For months. Some people were nice though. I just couldnt stay with them. These days I'm too depressed to make new friends. I can't put in the effort anymore. Effort is so painful. I've one friend I kept though and I love her so much I'd take a bullet for her. She gives me more care than everyone I spent my time with here combined. My friendship with her is one of the happiest of my life. Maybe even the happiest. She's one of the reasons I'm still here today. It's better to have one person love you than have many people like you. I often thank God that she's in my life.

I had some really nice friendships here at cr way back then and still some now. I'm still very close to one even after all these years. You'll find them there and there. Guess you can add or try to talk to people you think will click with you or find some of them in those buddy requests too.

It used to be so much more lively and diverse on CR back in the day, but now it's rather dead and boring. Subjective to my opinion, but you could literally just send requests randomly to people you find across the forums. Simple as that, and then converse through PM or guestbook.

Other than posting in the forums and gradually talking to more people there are also a lot of Discord channels you can join to meet new people and make friends. You can find some really good Discord groups here in the CR forums.

Try the shotgun approach. Send out lots of friends requests. Sure some will be rejected but a lot of people will just blindly accept it.

Or you can try the other shotgun approach which involves waving around a shotgun and shouting that you want some friends. That one is less successful though unless you are from The South.

Step 1. Be a train.
Step 2. Don't.
