I started playing Bloodborne 2-3 days ago. I can see the same formula as Demon's Souls. These games are not hard, they are just tedious imo. All the grinding and walk/running back and forth.

I would rather get a "GAME OVER" screen and load from save point than having to grind for those items again and then running from the last light to the boss for another try..

Uncharted Brutal was not as annoying as Bloodborne that is for sure.

This is what I've been trying to tell people for years. These games are easy peasy if your attention span is greater than that of a ADHD 5 year old. Though really is there such a thing as a hard game aside from some of the more interesting permadeath ones?

i didn't enable "connect to the internet" when i started this game. My PS4 didn't download update 1.09 soI was playing Bloodborne on 1.0 version!!

It's a good thing I installed an SSHD in my PS4 out of the box. SSHD + update 1.09 help cut down the load time a lot!!

I do not play it for "challenge", but to beat people to death with a swagger stick.

People who stopped playing this game would be

1- got tired of the same "back to square one" routine
2- don't have the time
3- couldn't figure out where to go
4- sick of the loading screen
5- annoyed by the game

SSHD and SSD will help a lot with these games. The loading was horrible with Bloodborne Version 1.0. I think they fixed it with update 1.03 or something ? It's frustrating when you keep dying and losing all the blood # and starting from 0 again and then having to walk/run all the way there just to died again.

I think we can beat this game in 20-30 hour or less if they have save anywhere feature and just restart from last save points.

I hate seeing the load screen every time i need to buy some things/upgrade my weapons/stats, etc.. You can't even transport to any location from the lantern either!! you have to go to the hunter hub first....

just more loading and backtracking....this is like those PS2 games where the developer bragged about 100+ hours of gameplay!! to to find out they are giving you 100+ floor dungeons to crawl through with each floor that will look pretty much the same..

if you have 1-2 hours free in a day.. how many will play the souls/bloodborne games?

http://www.vgchartz.com/game/82937/bloodborne/

They do have a following but sale # wise.. i don't see they selling more than 3-4 millions.

Git Gud!

I mean if Souls games are tedious and grindy so are character action games and the old Mega Man games, they're all centered around patterns and optimized play.

I'd argue Uncharted games have worse higher difficulties because they're based around stuff like lolgrenades and magically perfect aim for AI. Souls games try to even the playing field most of the time (tho NG+ and higher are complete garbage in all the games frankly). I will say NPC hunters are awful to fight and the closest to artificial difficulty the game has. NPC invaders in regular Souls games are much more balanced aside from a couple.

Also most people who say they play Souls games for the difficulty are annoying, same with the ones who parrot the concept of "dae le gaming is ruined after playing Dark Souls?!?!?" or the "don't read guides guys!!! always go blind even when the game becomes incredibly obtuse!". Don't listen to them, they just ruin the fun for others.

True. Bloodborne can be annoying at times.

1- there's no PAUSE option in this game
2- forced grinding
3- a lot of backtracking
4- loading screen -- but having SSD or SSHD and the latest update 1.09 cut it down to around 3-10 seconds .

The witch boss was pretty easy for some reason anyway, i'm getting the hang of it now. I'm at the forbidden woods now.

I saw some guy in the tower with a couple of corpses. It's pretty clear what happened so i tried to kill him but he turned into some electro beast . I don't think he's the boss of the forbbiden wood though

Despite all of the complaints about this game, I keep coming back to it!!

If you're not complaining, then you're probably not playing the game.

The fight with the beggar was not as hard as i thought it would be.

I threw a poison knife at him at the start of the fight and just rolled right off the platform. You can also use the entry way to block him for an easy fight. I just like the view of this method better. It's pretty much a NO damage fight using only 3-4 poison knives.

there was some weird glitch in another area -- enemy underground ?

I forgot where i got the poison knives. I have to restock.

after defeating the (forgot the name).. it's the beast that looks like it was turned inside out and will start spreading poison after you took about half of its blood away. It will give you a chalice for one of the dungeons in the hunter's dream. I think the enemies in that dungeon will drop poison knives. I think you can also buy them later on as well.

You are talking about the Blood-starved Beast ? It's the boss that caused my poison resistance to go all the way up to 300+. It's pretty handy in the Forbidden Woods for sure.

I checked. The enemies in the 1st floor of the 1st dungeon didn't drop any poison knife :/

At one point, you'll be able to buy them from the bath messengers in the hunter's dream. You need to get an item called Cosmic Eye Watcher Badge in the upper cathedral ward.

(alternatively, you can buy them from the messengers in the Lower Pthumerian Chalice layer 4, though that may be though depending on where you are in the game).
