Does anyone every feel like they have an obligation to finish an anime when they first start it and even though they may not like it, but not finish the anime feels wrong ?

But basically them more you watch it the more you do not want to finish it because either something in the anime is just unbearable. Would you just quit watching it ?

Keep watching it even tho I don't like it. If I don't I may never know if it gets any better.

I don't really feel obligated to finish shows, though I tend not to brag about it like some people.

I did sort of force myself to finish FATE/Stay Away: Unending Masochistic Dick Mangling, because people said it was just 'so good'. Spoilers: it wasn't.

Different STROKES for different folks. You just didn't like it, that's cool man.

I don't drop shows so much as put them on hold indefinitely.

I always start a show with the idea that I might drop it, but once I get past the halfway point of the first season I do feel somewhat obligated to finish the season at least. I'm breaking away from that a bit though.

I still start almost everything that's a first season show, and I used to make myself watch at least 3 episodes. I now know my tastes and anime enough though that I'm now more willing to drop after two, or even one episode.

I used to feel an obligation to myself to stick with anything that made the 3-episode cut. But in the past few seasons I've dropped things later when I found myself often watching anything but a certain show. If I let myself get more than a week behind that was often a sign that I wasn't liking it enough to keep watching (unless it was clearly just lack of time).

But sometimes I do still finish watching a show I don't like, just for the sake of saying I did. If a show were becoming truly "unbearable" though, I'd have no problem dropping it.

I used to feel that way, and so watched everything...now, I'll give everything four episodes, since three doesn't seem enough, before deciding. If I continue, but it sucks, I may just read about what happens, and if it sounds like crap, I'll drop it.

I make it a policy to finish every show I watch past the four episode mark. When I drop a show, almost all of it happens within the first four episodes as by then, I'm convinced whether or not the show is worth watching. It's rare I drop after one episode and it has to be something that's bad and I'm totally uninterested in for that to happen. I sometimes give shows up to six episodes, but after that point I'm obligated to finishing it. Now, for long series, that's another story entirely. But for most shows that are up to 52 episodes long, that's how I operate. Once I get past a certain point, I'm obligated to watching it through to the end.

if I don't like something I start to fast forward it (if I'm binging) if it gets to the point I don't like it I won't drop it, I'll seek the spoilers and declare I've seen it. no big deal, but that's basically a dropping of it I suppose.

I usually have no problem dropping shows if they're consistently (say 3-4 episodes in a row) not enjoyable for me. Though if there's a character that I really like in a particular series, I'll likely stick with it to see if they have more scenes. I've dropped many shows that I was close to finishing (i.e. dropped at episode 11 on a one cour show, or episode 21 of a two cour show).

If it's a one cour series I'll likely finish it, a two cour as well but I may stop watching for a bit and go back to it later. Anything 50 episodes and longer I don't mind dropping *cough cough Naruto Shippuden cough cough*

I ended up watching a speedthrough. Don't get me wrong, I loved the Naruto universe and powers and story, but damn was that anime adaptation slow. Way too many flashbacks too, I think I'll read the manga one day tho.
