Interesting read, who knows maybe this will result in marijuana being removed from Schedule 1 drug lists, which it isn't. As stated in the article it was originally banned for racist reasons, and also as a boon to petrochemical companies making alternatives to hemp (Although the article failed to mention this).

I wonder why. Must be irresponsible journalism.

(Remember kids, it's safe and doesn't make you paranoid!)

I will always find it strange that a plant that grows naturally and when smoked has never lead to anyone overdosing and dying from it, can be considered so dangerous. Glad California saw the light and voted to legalize it!

Currently high as a kite, complete with an unshakable smile. (I can't stop smiling. I'm literally trying to frown, growl or anything, but can't), world is kind of spinning, hand-eye coordination feels... off.

Am I gonna die? No.
Am I gonna hurt some? No, even less so then normal. I can't seem to conceive notions or thoughts of violence atm.
Will I regret this later? No, high will be long gone when I wake up tomorrow.
Am I using it responsibly? First time since last blue moon, and I'm just typing on a forum, watching anime, and playing Skyrim. Let you decide.
Will I wake up tomorrow and regret posting this? Odds are ya, but that's anytime I post past 1am.
Notice the lack of duh, fuck, shit, and stick up the arse? I certainly did. :P

It's not a schedule 1, and even if somehow it had no medical properties other then getting high, it's a high that is one of the safest highs one can get. No one gets violent or dangerous. No one gets hurt. and the worst that happens.(outside of utterly wasted) is the infamous munches.

"No one DIRECTLY gets hurt" since thousands have been murdered for illegal possession or illegal sales of it via cartel, gangs, or their peers. Sorry I am OCD about misleading statements. I get what you mean.

Marijuana doesn't seem to be that serious of a drug if a person doesn't over use it (as with most things everything in moderation) as well as think that possession of more serious stuff i think should be illegal but possession considered less severe only requiring therapy or whatever to try and quit and and maybe community service or something while making a the same serious drug should be a jail able offense

There is no reason for Marijuana to be a Schedule 1 drug.

The medical evidence against it is very weak, it MAY cause mild short term working memory impairment if you commit months of your life to doing nothing but punching cones all day and it MAY increase your risk of developing mental illness IF you are already pre-disposed to it (or are undiagnosed) but going "cold turkey" seems to completely remove any effects after a month or so.

I am not a doctor but I wonder if the issue is the smoke and not the THC, after all being a heavy cigarette smoker will trash your health if you do it long enough.

I have not heard of ANY cases of fatal OD's or people having their minds scrambled like an egg, in many ways it may be safer than paracetamol (which can cause liver failure if you take high doses) and a far more effective pain killer as well, esp for those struggling with cancer or recovering from surgery or serious illness.

It is Habit forming and can be destructive if you allow it to be, but then most things are if you take it to extremes.

As far as vices go smoking marijuana is a mild one. It is better and safer than turning to the bottle for your stress relief.

still against it. once that door is opened... eventually it will be legalized, hopefully I'll be super old and it won't matter either way. this is how "they" do it, once a door is opened here comes other things "they" want to legalize, meh, keep it illegal and that door closed.

Might as well legalize everything! As long people don't hurt others.. If they overdose and die.. that their fault, they knew the consequences!
