Not the brain surgery but brain consciousness swapping, do you think it is possible?

Considering science still doesn't understand consciousness, no. Once science gains true understanding and has a theory in place the possibility is there but the technology required would be very advanced.

It's not that far, well, to those that do not associate with the EM radiation group. Scientists are linking rats brains and it seems quite possible to just go one step above. It's all about connecting the dots of a few billion neurons. But you know, freeware EM group and few billion neurons seems like it would take some time. I don't even think they can get on that scale

P.S I want to get in touch with the EM group >.<

I am more than confident the human brain is much more complex than a rat's brain.

The thing is we don't really know what consciousness is or what part of the brain makes a person a person. We could simply have determined actions and forever go on thinking we always had a conscious free will. That's just how little we know given how advanced technology has become.

consciousness could be how the brain is laid out all the pathways and connections.

If you took someones brain and made a exact copy of it, would it be the same person or a new one?
Bit like the star trek transporter taking you apart sending you some where as energy and rebuild a exact copy does the old you die and a new one made?

Darn, a dozen Star Trek: TOS "Spock's Brain" meme-clips on YouTube, and not ONE of Dr. McCoy going "Of course!...It's so simple!" when you need one.

Hmm, been through the discussion many times. In the end me and a few others theorized in a forum that the brain's consciousness comes from the magnetic field caused by the imbalance distribution of sodium and potassium ions in the brain. So it's a force. As to why the shape of a brain creates consciousness, well it's like a conch shell, you blow on the conch shell and you get a resonance frequency. The force on the brain structure generates a resonance frequency resembling that of a consciousness. That's as far as I can speculate. As for blowing on the conch, force acting on the brain. No idea, pure speculation here. Thing is all brain structure looks the same. Let it be an ant's brain, or a bird's brain, they all have similar structure, that gives rise to consciousness. As to how you swap it, well that's out of my thought either. Crunchyroll or EM group might have better idea

P.S Do I want to swap body with Joyce, yes, long term, no

There are quite a few rational theories around consciousness.
Unfortunately, for the time being, they are merely theories or hypothesizes.
Seeing as we are unable to observe it (yet), the concept of consciousness is not going to be something directly understood anytime soon.
Objectively, I would say: "This may be possible, just not yet."
We would need more of an understanding of consciousness and the correlation between consciousness and memories.

Without memories, what would consciousness end up being?
Would we retain all of our personality traits?
Would we retain all of our environmental habits?
Without understanding consciousness and how our physical existence impacts it, we cannot necessarily begin the process of experimenting "switching" consciousness without potentially damaging side-effects.
