Plot Summary

Inuyashiki Ichirou is down on his luck. While only 58 years old, his geriatric looks often have him written off as a pathetic old man by the world around him and he's constantly ignored and disrespected by his family despite all that he's done to support them. On top of everything else, his doctor has revealed that he has cancer and it appears that he has little time left in this world. But just when it seems things couldn't get any worse, a blinding light in the night sky strikes the earth where Ichirou stands. He later wakes up to find himself unscathed, but he soon starts to notice that there's something... different about himself. However, it turns out that these strange, new changes are just what Ichirou needs to take a new lease on life and now it seems like there's nothing to stop him from being a hero worthy of the respect that he never had before... unless, that is, there was someone else out there with these same changes...

The first episode is up on the Japanese Amazon site, but nowhere else around the world at this time. Usually Amazon uploads videos at the same time everywhere for the stuff that they directly got the worldwide streaming rights for (as opposed to Anime Strike stuff obtained through Sentai), but apparently not so today. Anyway, the bottom line there says episodes go live one hour after the broadcast every Thursday.

The first episode is finally up on Amazon: LINK

Episode 1

It starts with a song by Man with a Mission, and while not as great as Database or Raise Your Flag, it's still a nice song with some great animation to go along with it.

Ichiro sure does feel dead there and in three months it will be official. The only thing he had to live for was his dog that he just picked up. But that all changed when he became a fighting machine and saves a homeless man from those bullies who were shooting fireworks at him, and now it has gone viral, though by accident. Quite an impressive showing of visuals, and while the setup could have been better, it lets everybody know what this show is all about.

Wow what an original anime really has promise to be one of the best. From the OP to the ED the set up and story line really good this MC gives old geezers like myself tremendous hope-Bravo! Old Man you are THE MAN you kicked some teenage ass and love the interface network to follow up and identify the stupid kids who should be put away for awhile

If it's not anime cars killing people, then it's UFO flybys, sheesh!

Not a bad start - some promising action in places, and I think they managed to build sympathy for the old guy well.
The guy saved 2 lives though, not 1, and he's a social media wizard now ;)
Wonder if liquids is now his main source of energy.

So he must be 'good' and the youngster be 'bad' for contrast. Looking forward to how they clash.

Episode 1

Ichirou Inuyashiki is a 58 year old man who just moved his family to their new home. When it comes to his family they don't show him any respect even though he works hard to provide for them. After going to doctors he finds out that he has stomach cancer and will die in the next three months. He tries to contact his family to give them the bad news but no one picks up. Late at night he is seen crying in the park and if his family would cry for him if he told them he had cancer. Just than a ufo shows up and changes his body. The next day he's a whole new person or should say machine and he even saves a homeless person at night.

The first half of the episode was really sad as he's family doesn't really give a damn about him and to make it worse he has cancer. Now that he's a machine things will change and maybe he will gain the respect he deserves? The first episode was really good and that op was amazing the best one this season. Looking forward to more.

For some reason, I think the music is good for this show, particularly the OP song.

It'll take some time to accept the characters. The old man is an interesting character and I really like the human emotions he expresses for this episode.

Visual quality is fine, not groundbreaking but works for this show especially with the machine parts. The CG didn't bother me at least. The sci-fi elements does stand out quite a bit.

I think this will likely be a complete adapdation since the manga ended recently. Good start overall.

Curious you look at the beginning picture for this thread and remember how there was another guy but he wasn't in this episode at all? Will he be the anti-hero?

Okay, what in the absolute heck did I even just watch?!

I couldn't stand the suffering they put the old man through; it was basically Clannad all over again. Then through some weird twisted sci-fi logic, he's basically now android badass.

The OP is pretty good, though and the CG...well, awkward to look at. Idk, I feel this would have worked better as a drama psychological than a sci-fi thriller.
