This may be the end of California.

Even if we get into a worst case scenario, our government won't allow California to fall regardless of political differences.

Pittsburg and Antioch have closed the schools today and tomorrow due to air quality that pretty far from fire areas

SFO airport is having flight delays due to poor visibility and smoke similar to fog situation and that also is far from Napa

I work in the insurance industry and today I helped a woman who lost her home due to the fires.
She also lost some of her vehicles and all her personal belongings. She will be lucky if she gets 25% of her stuff back

Ouch. What stuff couldn't she get paid for, anything that she couldn't prove ownership of?

Insurance companies usually require receipts of the the items lost in the fire...

If things aren't attached to the house they aren't covered by the insurance policy .
sheds, fences, gazebos, landscaping, detached garages, etc none of that will covered.

It will take weeks to send someone to inspect the property and the insured is expected to pay out of pocket for a hotel. They are encouraged to save receipts for a possible reimbursement

They will also due their best to reconstruct the home using the cheapest materials.
If you tell them you had wooden floors they will find the cheapest product possible. You have to be very specific as to what type of wood it was and how big the planks where. If not they will go to Home Depot and buy the cheapest shit possible

Wow. That is quite strict. Back when my house was burglarized about 10 years ago my insurance only asked me for a list of items and their worth. I think the company might have been Hartford, I will have to recheck and consider switching my insurance back to them!

On Sunday it was clear and now it's orange haze AGAIN.

New fires started down in Santa Cruz as well

I'm starting to wonder when will this ever end
