That's not really a very good solution though. Crunchyroll already doesn't buffer video very well, and a VPN slows things down even more. Personally, I'm not a fan of the browser based client, and I don't use a game console most of the time because it's inconvenient. 99% of the time I'm at my computer, so I want to use the app.

If it was better supported, and better advertised, more people would use it too.

I here declare that windows 10 Crunchyroll app is dead for those outside North America, and the use of VPN is a violation of the terms of service.

Your reply is nonsense.

If Windows UWP Crunchyroll App is dead for people outside US/Canada, then why is still available on the store on all regions except Japan?

If the app staff say the app is dead, then, its better to drop it from the store, and force the people to use FLASH Browser; delete ALL the subscriptions from regions like Latin America (which is one of the most affected by the issue); and reimburse for the subscriptions, apologizing according to laws, and locking the website access to US/Canada/Europe only - like other services does.

It's nothing but just a little deal.

I have the same issue with the app in both my PC and Winphone, and now i'm forced to use Firefox to watch the stuff I wanted... i guess that renewing the sub for this month was a mistake as now i can't watch nothing on my phone

As far I know, they're working on a fix for the issue in Windows 10 App; or at least, that's what the admins say.

For now, you should use an app for a console, or Android/iOS apps, which are working. Or, play the videos on a browser, like Edge (which is the safest here). Don't forget to keep your Adobe Flash updated, to avoid security issues.

If you are in USA/Canada, you should not have issues with the UWP app - the app issue is region-localized, so far I learned.

I've yet to see any admins say as much. Contacting their support I got no reply what-so-ever. Where are you getting your info from? And again, the console ones aren't an option, I don't exactly have consoles all over my house

At least, the forum moderators/admins are more talkative in Spanish forum, rather than here; the English (US) forum.

As of yesterday, they haven't bring any solution, and the customers in the most affected region (Latin America) are quite mad; at the point they will ask for subscription cancel, and will go away to watch from other services available (only Netflix) as well as they will watch/download it on 3rd party websites, which violates licensing agreement; and makes the industry going in risk (more) again.

I'm sorta afraid as well. As you know, Flash player is very insecure, and combining it with a browser with huge flaws like Chrome; then is a no-no for watch.

At least Microsoft Edge has less security flaws than the others.

If you're affected by this issue, you should be patient and watch by the web (Flash); through a secure browser, even in Private Mode; or downloading the app for other devices.

Of course, you won't be getting a reply in Customer Service. They have a very high load, and they're unable to reply all the messages in due time (2 labor days). It happens in 99% of the websites which has a Customer Service page.

You are joking on that right? Edge has had almost double the number of detected vulnerabilities that Chrome has had this year. The most shocking to me after looking is that Firefox has only had 1 detected vulnerability this year.

Granted over all Edge has the lest, but only because it's the baby on the browser market. Give it time it's not that far removed from it's grandpa Internet Explorer. The security flaws will start pick up as Microsoft gets more lax.

All be it i still prefer chrome because of the hardware acceleration.

We, members from outside USA/Canada are on the same bus, kiddo. The app keeps in loop while playing a video, and the region-exclusive videos (like Saint Seiya) shows the "cannot play" pop-up.

So far, it's been a month (even more), and no reply about this, and the moderators are just offering excuses.

On my point of view, the customer service, and the developer team will be really hurt due this.

Well... there are a lot of complains, specially if you check the Spanish forums; and some complains are nonsense. But, other ones has its point.

Isn't it more faster to ditch the current app and expand the Xbox One app to work in the rest of the Windows ecosystem?
Or, maybe checking why the Windows app is locking the videos to people with non-US/CAN IP address?

A lot of questions comes to mind, even a server-side error; but no answer has been given from the developer (Ellation). Therefore, it's a bad signal for CR's customer service.

Any chance of CrunchyRoll even acknowledging the problem? I know there's no chance of a fix... but ffs already...
