Well I'm not familiar with the ones for the planets past Jupiter, but my favorite of the others is Sailor Mercury. I appreciate smart characters, and I'm also sort of the quiet and studious one that has trouble making friends myself.

I think the Sailor Jupiter episode that stands out the most for me was the skating one. She was the only one out of the 5 who was gifted, and a lot of focus was on her.

There was also a lot of Sailor Jupiter focus in the 3rd episode of Sailor Moon R, For Whom is the White Rose? The Moonlight Knight Appears. One of her best friends is being targeted and attacked by a Cardian monster. She ends up donating her blood to save his life after he is injured, and a lot of attention was given to her via flashbacks as to why they are close, etc.

I honestly can't remember either of those, which is weird when you consider that skating and anime go together like showers and warmth. What were the episode numbers?

The skating episode was episode 39 of the full uncensored series, or episode 35 of the DiC version. Here's more info: http://wikimoon.org/index.php?title=Paired_With_a_Youma%3F_Ice_Queen_Mako

The blood donor episode was episode 49 of the full uncensored series, or episode 43 of the DiC version. Here's more info: http://wikimoon.org/index.php?title=For_Whom_is_the_White_Rose%3F_The_Moonlight_Knight_Appears

Hope this helps!

Thank you very much. The skating episode did have a pretty nice style, but it didn't really reveal much about Sailor Jupiter other than she was a good skater. In fact it doesn't really do much in general other than re-affirm what we already know at that point in the series, that Sailor Moon is a klutz, that Tuxedo Mask is on the villains side but still antagonizes Malekite and that Sailor Jupiter is still hung up about her ex so I can see why I forgot about it before.

The blood donor episode was much better though, largely because it featured a large pink lion which allowed for me to make a bunch of Steven Universe jokes to my friends and because it had Sailor Moon describing herself as "totally baked out" which didn't really allow for specific references but gave the mental image of her being high which was pretty great. The episode itself was pretty good, it developed the plot for the new season fairly well and featured some good character interactions. It still didn't really push Sailor Jupiter's character in much of a different direction though, unfortunately. Oh well.

My fav has always been Sailor Jupiter I always looked up to her when I was a kid . She was cool tomboyish and had awesome attacks and awesome at cooking . I always wanted to be like her . But I realize I am more like Sailor Mars which is awesome to since she is my 2nd fav .

This thread exists elsewhere, though it's a year old. I still agree with my take there.

I think Sailor Mercury is the best. At first (in the anime, at least) her portrayal as the genius is too stereotypical, but then she starts shoving sandwiches into her face while working out who Moonlight Knight is. This is so typical of how science gets done: we're just normal people who work hard to train ourselves to deal with specific kinds of difficult problems. That was one of the best episodes of the series, partially because of Ami. After this episode Ami gets to be more of a person, and is amusingly quirky.

But probably her best quality is that she is so grounded: though she's shy, she deals well with her own feelings. She trusts that she doesn't need to find love immediately and that things will work out, and even though she has a crush on Taiki she has no problem telling him his view of science as cold and rational is just wrong. It's not often that you hear a Feyrabendian perspective on science from anywhere in the media; that it came from Ami just indicates how wise she is.

Though she's not my favorite, I should also put in for Sailor Neptune: Though Haruka is more vocal and brash, has the cooler attack, and gets more screen time, it's clear that Michiru is the one in charge. She's the one who shaped how Haruka looks at the world, and she is at the same time more willing to work with the other Sailors than Haruka and more stubborn in her belief that they'll have to kill people to save the world. I can't help but think that Haruka is basically a subset of Michiru and thus strictly less awesome.

Does Tuxedo Mask count as a Pretty Guardian? He's pretty enough, so I'm gonna say yes. Tuxedo Mask is my favourite one.

Oh, that's hard to argue with.

I only know the anime, and I seem to recall that, in the last season, he was made out to be something like Sailor Earth. So yes, I'd say he counts. He is more than pretty enough.
