^^and men don't have double standards?
Posted 7/14/07
@RealJudgement: It was indeed an interesting topic but too many people have already stated some points that were being mentioned over and over again. Although disagreeing is allowed, some even went over the line.

Now, I'm 100% sure this was mentioned before but for the sake of staying on topic, I'll try to give a few pointers of my own.

Sexism exists because we as both men and women have developed certain images of the opposite gender which was based on what we have leaned from the past. Images like girls are physically weak but mentally strong or boys being strong in body but not in mind (both were said already so I don't need to clarify anymore). These images often overshadow the real truth that we are unique on our own ways despite of our gender. Meaning (like what duster said) even a women can do a man's work or vice-versa.

Feel free to fire a bazooka at my face. I'll respect your opinion and will try not to be too biased or angry.

We have less. I took a sex class in college (easy A) and they dicussed it. And also I can't think of a double standard we have right now. So gimme an example.

And... I can't Its 4 against 1. At least I'm a fast spinter

I can't think of any either, it was an honest question.

Everyone is a sexist. There is no use in denying it.

Genetically, men are physically stronger than women. I accept that. There are exceptions but those exceptions are rare.

Genetically, men have more brain cells than women. I accept that. What I don't accept however is that men are smarter than women b/c they have more brain cells. Why? B/c it's the amount of brain cells that you use not how much you have that matters in terms of intelligence and I think men and women are equal in that respect.

EDIT: All other forms of sexism I regard as stupid as they are not based on hard science but rather on societal norms/expectations.

People only use 10% of their brains anyway. women tend to be more rational.

We might be equally as smart but the way males and females thinks are different.

That often why males are sometimes more successful in the job market. Not always, but sometimes. (Of course not saying all woman are like that, just the majority) Hormones unfortunately does have alot to do with how we think.

And guys are discriminated too! They rather have a sexy young female receptionist than a fugly guy like me

Meh, guys have horomones too that make us stupid, irrational, and some *other* things. Anyone can change though.

The way we "think" isn't determined by sex. It's determined by how we were brought up: basically, the morals and ethics taught to us by our family and society AND how we are taught to think via school/the education system.

Lol, Punk. I can't decide if I hate or like you. You're strange. You fluctuate from saying absurd and painfully vulgar things to saying truthful things that actually make sense. You may be bipolar.

dont joke about bipolarism, im pretty sure you dont know what it really means. on topic, i agree with PF.

I’ll joke about whatever I like. Anyway, my mother is bipolar and on pills for it so I know exactly what it is. (You don’t live with somebody with a disorder without studying it. Or at least I don’t.)
Whatever the case this whole things become childish and annoying. Which is actually my fault, but still. Bye-bye.

you know what, i live with someone with bipolarism as well, and quite frankly i find it unfunny that you would joke about that. there are things ive dealt with because of it that i rather i hadnt of had to. seriously man, dont joke about bipolarism

I agree. horomones and gender do not controll all of your thinking patterns.

It actually in fact does. Whether you want it or not. Gender might not, but horomones do. PMS is PMS for a reason. Not because of the pain but the rush of horomones makes the woman sometimes very very moody.

You're soooooo true....

Happy: I'm making a distinction here between how we behave and how we think. What we "think" and what we do/how we behave do not go hand in hand with humans.
