I would like to, but my luck I would be forced into being the tank (sacrifice). I doubt things would be so nice and organized like you see in SAO. Real people would screw others over. Push you into a trap or use you as bait so they can escape, etc.

Definitely me, though I wouldn't call myself a moron. Selfish? Hell yeah. I couldn't care less about the people I left behind.

Well, moronic refers to the unhealthy aspect of an induced comatose state. It is not healthy to be in such a state for what could be years, if one lives that long, which is reminiscent of the demise of the Sloth victim in Se7en.

Selfish? I would say not caring for others is the general definition, though I am not too sure of your life to advocate caring for the people you left behind. I am inclined to contribute it to a possible teenage angst mentality (Even though I am not that much older, wiser, or more mature, really. 21 isn't that far away.), but I met quite a few with legitimate reasons to give the common figures in ones' life the finger, and hey, at least you are honest.

If I knew I was going to be trapped in there, no I wouldn't...I mean SAO seems like an epic experience I'd be one of the first in line for and would probably spend an unhealthy amount of time playing BUT I also don't want to die because some prick lost his mind either.

Seeing as i like to play mages in RPGs, no I wouldn't even pick up the damn game. Swords only in a phantasy MMO? no ty, support players get shafted too.

I would. I'd also likely find a way to live as a merchant or trade and leave the fighting to other people. =P

Alright, so in the scenario presented I'm assuming that since SAO is a released game, that there should be other vrmmorpgs out there. So I'd just go and play one of those. I figure we're assuming SAO is the only one of it's kind for this question tho, so I would say no I would not enter (but with exceptions). If I knew anyone I cared about was already stuck in the game I'd jump in and help beat it.

Agreed with some people about the unbalanced game mechanics tho, it would suck to get paralyzed by some death coffin guys and slowly stabbed to your untimely death. Or to just meet some guy way too many levels above you.

But, opposing what some people said, while it's not good for your body, you could possibly survive for a couple years maybe more. People have been in comas for years and come out (extreme examples).
