Saudi Arabia has been populated by robots since the 80s at least. It was cheaper to replace the populous with robots than have citizens.

Robots don't deserve rights or citizenship, just saying.

Hell if I know.Last month it's granting women the right to drive, this month it's giving robots citizenship. This may be part of a bigger picture, we'll just have to wait and see.

Perhaps it is to one up the United States, essentially. Especially since one robot in particular was granted said rights, not a general law deeming it for all robots. Not too sure of the relations with Saudi Arabia recently.

Or perhaps it is a ploy by terrorist working within to outsource their supply of suicide bombers....I kid.

Most progressive countries in the world? WTF are you smoking? Saudi Arabia, a country where slavery was made "illegal" *wink wink* in 1967, yet still occurs perpetrated by the royal family among others.
