So I've been seeing people talk about this a lot online lately. There seems to be a trend of men that are self proclaimed feminist/virture signallers being sexual assaulters/rapist.First Harvey Weinstein, who raised money for planned parenthood, partipated in the women's march, held fundraisers for Hillary Clinton and frequently talked about gender inequality in Hollywood.Turns out he's a serial rapist/sexual assaulter. Then,we have Andy signore. For those of you who don't know, he's the creator of the popular youtube channel "Honest trailers".He would often go on twitter rants about misogyny and sexism.Turns out he has a history of sexual assault and harassment.Tyler malka, the founder of Neogaf and notorious sjw,was accused of sexual assault.(It's also interesting to note that earlier this year,a neogaf mod who was a self proclaimed feminist and would often go on twitter rants about "sexism"was arrested for child porn.)

Thoughts?

"Virtue signaling" is just a mating strategy. It will pass.

Well, the general idea is to not get caught, so, suffice to say, it's not unheard of to play "wolf in sheep's clothing." That, and we also have folks who're in denial and end up over-compensating for their weaknesses. Finally, we have the "reformed," who had face-heel-turns on topics and can't hide their less than scrupulous past. Pretty typical human behavior, really.

EDIT: I suppose there's another type; self-aware, hates their own actions and that of others, yet can't seem to stop themselves.

Well, three convicted high-profile sexual predators out of four billion males, those're pretty damning statistics, if you ask me...

Yeah, thought he had a bad habit of beating the default "We're gonna pork!" gag into the ground every single time they did a Disney musical, just because it got a laugh once in the Frozen HT.

Still, it's pretty darn hard to convict the man who gave us the HT's for "The Mummy" and the Hobbit Trilogy--Maybe they can have him do community service, like an Honest Trailer for the next Fantastic Beasts movie.

Lol.It's not just them. There's sam kriss,a journalist and game critic who was an infamous sjw and white knight, who was accused of sexual assault. Then, devin faraci,a feminist film film blogger, who was accused of sexual assault. Then there's joss Whedon, who is a big feminist and sjw, would cheat on and abuse his wife.I could just be going slowly insane from spending so much time on the internet, but I think there is a trend starting.

I mean, that's what happens when Third Wave Feminism (Affectionately referred to as Feminazis) shows up and tells all men they're literal human garbage regardless of what they do. Every prominent man becomes a virtue signaller but just hides their behavior and everyone else begins flocking to the aids that is the alt right, it's why Third Wave Feminism (And SJWs in general, especially all the Buzzfeed race baiters) needs to die out as a movement.

Is good virtue necessarily bad if it is born from evil places? Does all positive philosophy have to be inherently pure? I think it's fair to separate philosophy from a source and hold it to its own value and not to the value of those who seek to use it to atone for the sins they have. Virtue can be used by anyone -- good or bad.

It's good for once to see virtue signaling be used with the proper definition for once on these forums instead of just having the term lobbed at any moral position someone disagrees with.

But yeah, fuck these hypocritical assholes. Actions speak louder than words and their actions tell me they are shitty people no matter how many good things come out of their mouths.

Look, let's be honest: It's about Weinstein. He was a slimeball, and we got him, and now you've got that unfulfilled sensation after the rush is over. Can't eat just one potato chip, and all that.
Me, I just wanted to see him up at the Hague war-crimes tribunal for what he did to the Oscars, but if everyone's going to make a big thing about the sexual harassment, HEY: Whatever Works. Like getting Al Capone for tax evasion.

Now it's just over-over, and you were waiting for some big catastrophic change, because you wanted it to mean more than it was.
Just be glad for what we got: Harvey's career is over, the Weinstein Company (how many freakin' times did they go bankrupt??) is finally bleeding for good, and now even the Oscars don't want to touch this year's Weinstein Bribes with a ten-foot English Patient.
If feminists want to suggest this is some "Male" or "Social justice" thing, how much more proof do we need that they never just see the forest for the trees?

Yeah, that's totally the problem. Feminists. Not the rapists and sexual abusers, their behaviour or the industry around them that keeps this sort of thing on the down low for decades.

Nope, totally feminists.

I agree(both with the way virtue signaling is used and with actions speak louder than words).

Precisely because it's a (somewhat) effective mating strategy, it won't pass. Sure, our generation's women might wise up to it, but the next generation's women will only learn through painful experience. If populations of women could learn this from their foremothers' mistakes, it wouldn't have persisted for so long within male populations.

Had a friend who would do this all the time whenever we were out drinking. He was also angry and Irish so his energy level was through the roof (But made for a good drinking partner!). Funny I never attributed it to being an act. I just thought he was very passionate. Maybe that's why it is effective. Passion correlating success and therefore interested females?

It may be that they literally cannot.

In any case, the "virtues" extolled will certainly change, and talking about it in a negative light may stop. Tastes change, and the lies men amd women tell themselves and others change with them. So what is called "virtue signalling" today will pass.
