I recently watched the pet girl of sakurasou or sakurasou no pet na kanojo and i was unhappy with the ending. Ill be honest, ive really never cried for an anime but this one sure made my eyes watery on the second to last episode. I think this anime was amazing and i loved every bit of it. Animes like this make me not want to watch anime. They capture my attention get me anxious to see the results of things that end up happening but it left things too open in the end. It wasnr a bad ending but it wasnt what i expected/wanted. I know there probably wont be a second season but can i read the light novel somehow in english? Is it translated? To english. Maybe even animes similiar to this one? For some reason i cant take the ending but i also love watching them too much. I watched Gamers also which i enjoyed but disliked the ending. Maybe recommend a more cheerful anime? I feel wierd after watching it although i loved it, i think i want something more heart warming or funny. Like space patrol luluco, anne happy, the chronicle of the going home club, or himouto. Something more cheerful.

There is not an official English translation of the novels.

Parts of the novels have been unofficially translated by fans, but not the entire thing. Also, if you just want to know how it ends (although this is clearly an unflattering review), you can check out: https://frogkun.com/2013/08/13/the-ending-of-sakurasou-no-pet-na-kanojo-sucked-light-novel-spoilers/

If you want school-aged romantic comedies with conclusive endings, check out:

Toradora
Myself; Yourself
Kimikiss: Pure Rouge
Kotoura-San
A Bridge to the Starry Sky
Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu (conclusive ending is found in the OVA series)
Nagi no Asukara
Hanasaku Iroha

Others where the anime ends pretty well, and the continuing subject material does have an official English translation:
My Love Story
Yamada-Kun and the Seven Witches
Say "I Love You"
Kimi ni Todoke
Maid-Sama

Nagi no Asukara has some watery moments (in more ways than one!)
Hanasaku Iroha has some feels, though mostly generated by her relationships with her family and not the romance.

If you really want to cry, though, you should check out some of the older Key/Visual Arts anime:
Clannad
Kannon
Angel Beats
Little Busters

Mashiroiro Symphony has a pretty decent ending, would not have minded more, but atleast it doesn't make you curse the gods of anime with a terribly open ending :).

Golden time is superb in my opinion, i found the story interesting, the characters for the most part all decent, it balances the drama, comedy and rommance fairly well, and best of all it also has a fairly conclusive ending, even if it does leave room open for more (which probably will happen about the same time as the horns of Ragnarok sounds and Odin calls us all to the end battle :p)

Nagi No Asukara is a lovely anime that i would also recommend.
