On IGN's Podcast beyond, they just claimed it is not retroactive

I'm pretty sure the only trophies that count are the ones that you unlock AFTER this credit program begins. Also, it's apparently capped at 120 dollars of credit, and one Platinum is one dollar of credit, meaning you'd apparently have to earn 120 Platinums to cap yourself on credits. All in all, that's quite a bit of gameplay and effort for a minuscule benefit. Feel free to correct me if I'm mistaken though.

1. There's no cap.
2. Previous trophies (prior to update) do not count towards this (which confuses me due to my amount of Sony Rewards points)
3. 1 Plat = $10 (essentially)

This is more of an incentive to complete games to get a platinum trophy, not so much as a means of supporting one's gaming habits as a whole.
It does not appear to be a horrible idea.
More or less, it appears to be an attempt to get more users to engage with their Sony Rewards system.
They did the same with the Playstation 3 (there was a bonus that would allow you to 270 points when buying a PS3 bundle).

prior to update?

so the trophies i got so far will not count until i sign up for this program ?

I just signed up and I got no points....I have 19 Platinums 88 Golds and 198 Silvers

and I just read the fine print that said the Trophy pass system is limited time.

So now I just feel like I signed up for a spam list....

until they decide to stop the program...which could be in a year or so. All 19 of my Plats were earned in the last year and half though...so maybe....I still refuse to buy games which are made just for easy trophies though...like "My Name is Mayo"

As others have mentioned, it isn't retroactive.
I have 628 Platinum trophies (and something like 14,000 bronze ones).
There are a few games I've been meaning to finish getting platinum on.
I suppose Uncharted 4, Friday the 13th, and .Hack//G.U: Last Recode will be the first platinums under this banner.

most of these games with easy Platinums are indie games that i will not bother playing :/ I think telltale games are easy to platinum as well

Telltale games are easy Plats, but they take at least 12 hours usually. Some of them are very good stories though. I liked the First Season of Batman and Tales From the Borderlands is also good.

Hitman Go and Lara Croft Go were also very easy Platinums, but they were great games.

I don't mind playing a game with an easy Platinum, if it is a good game. My aversion is to games that are made simply for the fact that they are easy to Platinum.

"My Name is Mayo" has separate trophy lists for Vita and PS4, and both versions are only $1. All you have to do is tap the screen about 200 times and you get a Platinum Trophy. That's just ridiculous. There are a few other games out there like that.

Telltale games are not bad. I played The wolf and walking dead games. You will get the platinum for just playing the game from start to finish pretty much. I'm not a fan of these type of games though. I died quite a few times because i didn't have the controller in my hands to press the buttons when the game demanded it

Mayo? this one ? Sony is doing what Nintendo was doing with their Wii games back then, they allowed a lot of garbage on the system (shovelware)

The Order 1886 is one of the games that are pretty easy to get the platinum. It took 3 days for me. It's not a bad game as people claimed it was. It is short though. I paid $5 for it and it's worth it.

the main complaints about the games

1- camera too close
2- un-skippable cutscenes

It was a nice change of pace after playing bloodborne that is for sure.

It's worth at least $20. The game looks amazing, probably as good as Uncharted 4. My problems were...cliffhanger ending, with no sequel in sight. Crappy quick time event boss fights. Stealth was only an option a few times, and it was also dependent on QTEs. The shooting mechanics were weak compared to other third person shooters.

I have let to play Uncharted 4 but i doubt it.... The QTEs will take some time to get used to but after that the fight with the lycan (using the knife) is pretty fun. I didn't have to start from the last lantern when i died in this game. The ending of the Order 1886 suggested that they planned a sequel for it? but he game didn't do well so that is it ?

I think i'll get the platinum for uncharted drake's fortune next then.

Uncharted 4 has more environment variety, but The Order's actual graphical fidelity is right up there with it.

Until Dawn is more like a David Cage game, like Beyond 2 Souls and Heavy Rain. There isn't much gameplay, it is more about making decisions. A few QTEs, but mostly about making decisions. Actually the boss fight QTEs in The Order are more like old school God of War Boss Battles.
