Does anyone know if the asterisk war anime will get a third installment?? Whether you call it season 2 or season 3, I really like this anime and I would like to see it continue.

I dunno a ton of shitty anime get second and third seasons lately some worse then Asterisk war.

Depends on a ton i heard Asterisk was EXTREMELY popular in Japan whether that's true sums it up.

Even good anime have a hard time getting that far. Especially if they're adapted from light novels, which Asterisk War is (not that it was any good to begin with).

Well first of all, almsot nothing is worse than The Asterisk War and second I really dont see that much bad anime get continuations. Oh, extended cours and movie spinoffs, sure, but second and third seasons for bad anime aren't really something I see aside from the occasional one like Working.

Whether or not it was "good" is very subjective. As we all know, the popularity in Japan trumps all else, and often shows that many in the Western Audience consider to be bad are considered good by the Japanese audience.

It all depends on how well it sold in Japan, how well it increased the LN sales, and if the LN still has more volumes coming out.

There has been no announcement on a season 3 though.

I see it happen a ton and i would debate that i have seen many things worse then Asterisk war imo Asterisk is below average at best.

Though my opinion of bad anime is probably different from others but....im personally sick of good shows getting canned and trash shows getting sequels like Wixoss getting a sequel whilst kuromukoro gets none.

Luckily Big order didn't get a season two that was worse then Asterisk in millions of ways which makes me glad.

Neither was SAO to most people many see it as just as bad but that shit got 3 seasons and one coming.

The anime industry today doesn't care about quality more or less what sells more

On the flip side.....there was a vote a while ago on what anime Japanese people were most dissapointed in and MY hero academia was #1 forget where i found it but .....there really is nothing you can do but guess.

Some companies put out sequels even if it hardly made bank some just use the shows as promotion.

This is probably the main reason shows usually don't get a second season, in that they were never intended to tell a story but to promote the source material.

And kinda like I said in the LL thread, being good / bad is irrelevant. You just have to be popular.

I would suggest going with the Light novel or manga. I don't think it has much of a chance. I don't think it sold that well.

It depends on popularity in Japan above anything else. I have seen some worse shows getting third seasons while some pretty good shows in need of a second season not getting it. And then there are some that are just there to be cash cows even though everything was nicely wrapped up without much room for more like with Sword Art Online and Eureka 7 AO. And then there is Love Live that is the big road block for any sequel by that production team at Sunrise as that show is really popular, and even when the story ends, all they have to do is change location and characters, and that will be another cash cow since the Love Live name is slapped on it. While it would be nice to have sequels based on which shows need them the most, unfortunately that's not how things work. I definitely would welcome another season of Asterisk War as I feel that the Gryps Festa is where things really take off in the novels.

I would love to see a third season but that seems highly unlikely at this point in time.
