I don't know what my life would've been like without anime, I have other interests besides anime but I'm pretty sure I would be a very, very different person to the one I am today. That said, I'm not sure if I will always watch anime. I want to but as I've gotten older and a little more responsible my relationship with anime has changed. I only watch one hour a day instead of four or five hours like I used to. I've been going to Anime-Expo every year for the past six years and this year while I was waiting in line (no surprise), I decided that next year would be my last year going. Not because I hate it or anything but I felt like it was time for me to move on. And that got me thinking about whether I would give up anime someday. As much as I love anime, I don't deny that maybe one day I might. Then again sports fans follow a team for life so why should anime be any different? I still don't know if I will or won't but I'll keep enjoying anime for as long as I can.

Will you leave anime behind one day or keep watching till the end?

I'll keep watching until my very end. I've invested WAAAAY too much time and money to give it up now anyway lol.

Just continue to enjoy it however way gives you the most happiness and you'll love it forever.

I'd thought that perhaps as I got older that I'd care less about anime/manga. As I got older there have been instances in which I've put down watching and reading manga and anime all-together, but not because it was unhealthy addiction but purely for school and work related reasons.

Furthermore, the cost of anime growing up forced me to prematurely get a job to fund it. In turn, as I got older I learned to value the dedication it took -- especially now with my own big boy bills and house and lifestyle -- that I can't seem to look down on anime and think to myself I'll give it up.

Sure, certain things I enjoy have vastly changed and I'm not quite indulgent on the matter, but for the most part, I doubt it'll change.

It also helps that most of my friends have grown up watching and enjoying the same so our get together's are always a mixture of sports and anime/manga talk.

I've been watching anime avidly for about 11 months now. I've now watched 35 shows in their entirety and dropped others along the way. I've never been to an anime convention or anything which maybe I'll do at some point. I think one day I will give up watching anime. Like you, I think it's had a profound effect on my life. Made me a better and happier person and I feel like I've learned a lot of lessons through watching anime. But one thing I believe in for life is change. It's a constantly changing thing (life) and I'm simply going to continue watching anime until it doesn't do anything for me anymore. Before I was into anime, I was into other things, and when I'm no longer into anime, I'll find new things to love. So yes, I think one day I will stop watching anime. I think my time watching anime will be special because it'll come to an end at some point. I'm 21 right now and I think as I age, other things will become more important, and I'm happy about that. But in the foreseeable future, I will continue watching anime because I still love it and it brings me joy.

I'll give up anime when I stop enjoying it, not before. Maybe sometimes I won't have time for it, but if I still enjoy it I'll come back to it when I do. I don't see any need to come up with arbitrary deadlines about abandoning one of my favorite hobbies.

although anime Is incredibly enjoyable, it is incredibly time consuming. without a doubt I will come to the realization that the time consumed by anime just isn't worth it. it might be fazed out of my life all together. I'm sure ill give anime another go though in my 80s when I'm retired and wondering if Luffy ever found the one piece.

Don't think I'll ever stop watching, watched anime since I was 4 on and off since I never knew about streaming sites I was only able to watch anime from dubs aired on TV and I never used the internet much in my childhood. Started watching anime exclusively and nothing else since 2013, enjoyed almost everything that I have watched so far. Don't think I'm going to stop watching anime anytime soon if at all, there's always something new that will come out to look forward to or something that I haven't seen yet to watch. Though I am disappointed sometimes when I see anime that I like that feel too short, doesn't have sequels or doesn't have good closure on the series.

Even if a day were to come where I stop watching new anime, all the stuff I love can still be watched. I'll watch anime until the end

I've been watching anime since I was a kid back when we didn't know it was anime because it had been Westernized. I've imported VHS tapes, special ordered DVDs... I don't think I'll be giving up anime anytime soon.

id say there might come a time when I no longer have time for it but I don't think ill stop enjoying it. I mean, theres anime for all ages and even if my preferences change, there will be some anime kinds ill enjoy.

In the future I'll Probably will sit on the couch on a sunday evening with my kids to see an anime movie or watch it on my cel in my lunch time at work.

I don't think I'll stop watching anime just like I wont stop watching regular tv shows or stop reading books. sure, I might spend less time and money on it but honestly I find this medium better than most of the things in other mediums. I will find more things I'll love and spend time on them as well, maybe even more than on anime but as long as there will be good shows I'll watch them and as long as I will love what I watched I might rewatch it.

Much like the creator of this topic, anime changed my life. It's hard to put it into words, but i definitely don't want to think what my would've been without this. In fact, anime makes me happy. The conventions are also fun. But nothing can beat my number 1 hobby. I wonder how long this will go on? As long as i enjoy it, not in the near future, that's for sure.
