I'm so sick of crunchyroll not patching their issues. Once a premium member gets glitched saying I am a premium member without the benefits of a premium. Says it active even though it is not. I try to cancel to fix it and it says must be active to cancel.

DO NOT PAY THESE SCAM ARTISTS A DIME! I did on and off over 2 years and the previous 12 months AND MY THANK YOU ARE GLITCHES THAT SCREW ME OVER!? I"M DONE. IF They are not going to do their job in providing a GOOD service that works but instead focus on TERRIBLE COMMERCIALS AND YOUTUBERS why should we stick around.

Vote with your wallet. Other wise FIXES will never be made. Just another app on another platform to encourage more problems.

which specific glitches you are talking about ? is it the $ sign with uploading pictures?

If you goto Settings It should say "Free member" (for me) not the current "premium member ship" (which it says for me currently) statues that isn't true and glitched out. so bad even guest passes aren't working even though it says I redeemed them meaning I should have 48 hours but still not working.

Like fuck this is the Xbox 360 gold member B.S. all over again but now on crunchyroll. I was happy to leave Microsoft but this is just frustrating beyond words because I enjoyed the content I got here until their programming faults hit me at FULL BLAST making no sense.

Welp... first off, thanks for trying to help.
Turns out you stay a active member until you goto your payment options OUTSIDE of crunchyroll to cancel manually....Even though it should've been automatic when the payment didn't come in. so in other words. Modern crunchyroll paying options work similar to Microsoft Xbox 360 Year 2011 system. so they can take the payment a.s.a.p. even if you may not have any intentions of re-enabling it.

So that "cancel membership" button available in your crunchyroll account settings....it doesn't work with paypal....at all.

only reason it took me so long to figure out was because it has that -cancel membership- button in our account settings.

Sad thing is Netflix, square enix, blizzard reset everything to inactive for the respect and safety of the customer (crunchyroll did the same around 2014-2015). Crunchyroll today respects you on the same level as Microsoft of GIVE ME MONEY and that's just sad if not scary thinking how many people are paying for crunchyroll premium memberships they don't want for an extra month or two before they notice checking the bills.

Most people go to the customer support section of the website for help.

Also to pick apart another part of your rant that I skimmed, if you don't want to renew your subscription, there is this thing called being an adult where you cancel your subscription before the payment date rolls in.

In defense of the website, I have had two complaints that were dealt within ten minutes of me pressing the send key for the customer support section. Granted that speed is only guaranteed for premium members.

the user likely have the same problem as this one and this one

for some reason, the system recognizes the payment yet is slow to actually provide premium membership - or outright doesn't actually provide premium membership and you need to contact supprt and beg for their help to get a service you paid for. it's an ongoing bug that happens to some users. CR doesn't know - or at least i don't think they do - what causes the bug, but giving the pink slip to 17 engineers
probably didn't help matters. to say CR have a shortage of staff would probably be an understatement - particularly their engineering team.
there's also reports of another bug causing the system to not cancel membership, as shown in a thread here and here

the people above acted "like adults" and tried to cancel their membership, but that obviously didn't work. OP likely had a similar problem.
to ask OP to be an "adult" and "cancel before the payment date" is frankly uncalled for. OP was furious in his complaint, but it's justified because OP actually paid for a service that doesn't work for him. your experience with CR tech support is irrelevant.

Yup. I had this same problem. Like, two or three times. Then, my membership randomly kicked in for no reason.

I can and have written more reliable e-commerce sites and payment processing than we see here at CrunchyRoll. I think since they were bought by Ellation they've really gone downhill as a company. Just look at their GlassDoor reviews. My guess is that they're banking more on this VRV stuff than plugging the holes in the CR platform.

I mean, Keystone.js, people.

Try not to choke on the foot in your mouth right now. Sounds to me like he decided that it was enough to cancel his automatic payment through his bank and not crunchyroll. And if that was not the intention behind his words, then it was his own poor wording that was a direct result of his extremely childish temper-tantrum.

i'm not sure what you mean by "chocking on my foot", but if trying to insult others makes you happy, so be it. i can't say it's something i'd expect from an adult. but then again, you probably are not. given your aggressive attitude, i don't think having a discussion with you would be constructive, so i bid you goodbye.

It's a variation of the idiom to "stick one's foot in their own mouth". If you don't understand the meaning of it, then you can ask google-senpai.

Also, if we are talking constructiveness in regards to the topic, then white knighting this user who didn't make a help thread nor did he contact support because he was "smart enough" to fix the glitch himself (by throttling his own payment via paypal no less) is just as counter-intuitive.

there were recent updates to firefox, adobe and windows. however, when I was having an issue with guest pass I simply submitted a ticket and it was resolved within a day's time. try that method, they aren't taking the money and being greedy they are here to help their users and solve and try to resolve. other than usual glitches I'm not really having any issues at the moment. as for seeing ads and paying premium that's normal when it comes to the site but not streaming.
