because optical drives aren't fast enough to stream the texture data for modern games. It's the same on Xbox One. It was also the case with some PS3 games

The only 2 I have are The Order 1886 and The Walking Dead. Both of which you get for just finishing the game.

The Order 1886 is also sometimes around $5 on flash sales if looking for that easy platinum. I did buy it b/c it was cheap and wasn't expecting much because it didn't get good ratings but its a really fun adventure game.

Most PS3 games will require about 5GB of data install-- Splinter cell blacklist requires 12GB though while games from Santa Monica and Naughty requires like 150MB- 250MB (PS3). The PS3 blu-ray drive is 2x i think. The PS4's is 6x. There's aslo the graphic card so it's not the disc drive, i think it's because they are moving to the digital age they like dumping the game on the HDD instead-- removing one of the benefits of having a physical copy.

You got The order 1886 in one playthrough? I had to use chapter select to those kills by specific weapons and collectibles. It is a short game though. You can get the platinum within 9-10 hours.

Telltale games are pretty easy to get the platinum. I played a few of them but didn't like just sitting there and jsut holding the controller most of the time though

I was hoping it was NieR:Automata, but my last platinum was Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence.

I have a few old games I want to play again, such as Akiba's Trip, so maybe that'll change.

It's been a while since my last Platinum. It's going to take while till the next one, so i'll be listing all the Platinums i earned this year.

I have to say, this year is likely going to be my record year. I usually manage to earn at least a few, but for this year, a total of 14. How? There were times when i was employed and other times i wasn't. Not only that, but some of the games were short so that's it. Can't say same about the following year (2018) but what the heck.

Here's the breakdown (listed in order when they were earned as well as the difficulty):

Unless otherwise mentioned, games are on PS4.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - Average
Gravity Rush Remastered - Average (DLCs included)
Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch (PS3) - Average, but tedious on certain trophies.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - Average
Killzone Shadow Fall - Hard, yet i managed to get everything, even conquered Elite Mode.
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End - Easier and faster if you use glitches. Only missing two trophies from Survival DLC.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy - All three games, pretty much average. DLC on the first game included.
Grand Theft Auto III - Average but very annoying.
Gravity Rush 2 - Long but still average. DLC included.
Alienation - Average but can be tedious on certain trophies. DLCs included.
Horizon Zero Dawn - Easy. DLCs included.
Resogun - Hard and tedious on certain trophies. (DLCs included minus co op trophy)

Here's what i'm planning to platinum next year:

Final Fantasy XV - Sadly had to push till later.
Batman: Arkham Knight - Only New Story+ as well as few DLC trophies remain.
Diablo III
Sonic Forces
Tales of Xillia

And who knows what. Time only shows.

Happy New Year, everybody!

Steins:Gate. Platinum number 20 It only took me 84 hours. Next I'm either moving to Until Dawn, Grim Fandango or Steins;Gate 0

I just got my e-mail from Playstation cataloging what I did in 2017

403 hours played

115 hours in Horizon Zero Dawn (this seems pretty accurate based on my game clock for it)
52 Hours in Rise of the Tomb Raider (I figured it would be more like 90)
38 hours in Uncharted Golden Abyss (surprising they were able to track that since I was not on Wi-fi while playing that most of the time)

533 trophies earned

11 Platinum (this is accurate)
50 Gold
82 Silver
390 Bronze

Although, it also says "You earned your first Platinum Trophy in 2017". Umm...I earned 8 Platinum trophies in 2016, so their tracking isn't very accurate. It also said I earned 112 trophies in May, but according to PSN Profiles I only earned 83 trophies in May.

It also says my 1st Platinum Trophy was Tales from The Borderlands...which I actually earned in November 2017. My first Platinum was Uncharted 4, which I earned in July of 2016. The Tales from the Borderlands Platinum was actually my LAST platinum of 2017, and my 19th overall.

These were my Platinums in 2017 in order earned

Hitman Go
Lara Croft Go
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Virginia
Horizon Zero Dawn
Uncharted Golden Abyss
Day of the Tentacle
Uncharted The Lost Legacy
Rime
Resistance Burning Skies
Tales from the Borderlands

I also got 100% of the trophies in A Boy and His Blob and Machinarium
doing some of the challenge levels in A Boy and His Blob with those analog sticks on VITA was actually really hard. That game should have had a Platinum Trophy. It only had bronze trophies though. That's an example of a developer getting lazy with trophies.

So my first Platinum of 2018 is Steins;Gate

Time for my first platinum which is:

Sonic Forces

Great game. Really. Somewhat easy, though. For the platinum, it took me about 20-30 hours or so. I also collected the trophies for Episode Shdow, which wasn't too much of trouble. In other words, 100% for the trophies. Finally, it was an easy platinum.

Next, i'm planning to get 100% on Sonic Mania. Once that's done, maybe it's time that i platinum Batman: Arkham Knight and the remaining DLC trophies (the hardest ones).

Batman: Arkham Knight: It took time, but now i finally got that platinum. I also collected most of DLC trophies. The only ones i couldn't get are the last three trophies from Community Challenge Pack. I tried, but i just can't do it. Only professionals can. Oh well, it doesn't matter. I'm fine with what i got.

Resogun (PS3): And here i thought the original PS4 version was hard. The PS3 version is without a doubt the hardest version when it comes to clearing the Arcade on hard. I'm not kidding when i say i needed at least 100 attempts or so. The reason is the final level. So f***king many enemies. But once i got lucky, it was over. Thankfully. Other than that, it was easy and fast one to platinum.

Resogun (Vita): For some reason, i decided to platinum this game three times. However, it seems PSN doesn't register both PS3 and Vita versions separately. As a result, my PSN shows only two of them (PS4 and PS3). Not that it's a loss or anything.

Anyway, as for this version, it's easier than PS3 version. The controls took some time to get used to, but it's nothing to worry about. That's all there's to say.

So what's it going to be next? A certain PS3 game i've been holding far too long, perhaps? Most likely.
