Okay, you may all think that certain TV shows, movies, cartoons and anime that some of the titles are good and some of the titles are bad but it's not like that the new Indian channel for 2018 is not ripping off the app, VRV (by the makers of Crunchyroll). That's right, Sony Yay has got to leave on 2018 because otaku fans hate this channel because Animax India was replaced was Sony Yay (the channel we hate). Anyway, Sony Pictures Networks India needs to have an agreement with Crunchyroll, Funimation, Rooster Teeth, Cartoon Hangover, Shudder, Mondo, Tested, Geek & Sundry and Nerdist make to channel to replace Sony Yay with a new channel that includes programs acquired from Crunchyroll, Funimation, Rooster Teeth, Cartoon Hangover, Shudder, Mondo, Tested, Geek & Sundry and Nerdist and it will be named either as "Sony Fandom" or "Sony Otaku."

Here's an article on Wikipedia:
On April 18, 2017, Animax Asia was replaced by Sony Yay, a completely different channel targeting the childrens' genres. Animax ceased its operations in India and was replaced by Sony Yay on April 18, 2017. Sony Pictures Networks announced their plans to bring all anime content from Animax as a expensive paid content to its digital platform, Sony LIV.[1] Sony Pictures Networks has made Animax Asia HD available as live channel on its Indian digital platform, Sony LIV.[2]

From <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_Yay>

See, if Animax India got replaced by Sony Yay, then Sony Yay shouldn't existed in the first place. Sony Yay need to be launched as a different channel April 18, 2018. And if they don't do what I say, then all of every otaku fan from their country from India will never have Animax India ever again for the rest of their life so please help every petition from change.org.

Well since Sony bought Funimation that could mean they plan to expand their services to other regions. Who knows.

From what I have seen from anime fans from out of India to social media they want a online non tv broadcast service.
These are the 2 common questions on an anime streaming site's social media that I go and read.
"What online site can I watch 'this older series from several years ago' on?" "When are you going to launch in Asia more importantly India?"
It has cut down quite a bit lately and I wonder if this is why as they now have a VOD service. I wonder if they passed it on and said well we get these demands for it so it seems there is a market for it.
Maybe this has allowed older shows to be seen again? if the VOD service owns the license then a 24 hour a day time limit does not apply. If you missed out when it was new does it get repeated if so when?

I love the Wikipedia entry "Sony Pictures Networks announced their plans to bring all anime content from Animax as a expensive paid content to its digital platform, Sony LIV."
Shouldn't it list a price or something not just a generic claim of "expensive"? How expensive are we talking? Years wage per month/lifetime? it seems whoever wrote it is salty. 'Sony Pictures Networks announced their plans to bring all anime content from Animax to its digital platform Sony LIV as a paid subscription/addon.' Seems better
Pretty sure VRV would be also classified as a expensive paid content too. $10USD or 650INR a month doesn't seem cheap. Specially for a country that only has 40% reliable electricity supply. (so Adani one of the power providers says anyway)

No amount of change org petitions is going to shut down a different service just because people dislike it.
I may as well get VRV shut down because I don't get serviced by them... Or Shut down NBC in the US shutdown because they axed a channel I used to watch 2 shows from? (even though the channel wasn't profitable) See how pathetic that type of thing sounds?

Id rather get a petition that is based around getting subscription fees reduced to as low as possible (a unbundle offer and or offer tiers SD/480p/720p/1080p stream levels) or offering a ad support function as well.
Then how about petition phone providers get it included into mobile/cell phone plans so it's free and data free. So those types of things could be a option too.
If you get enough people to say yes I would change to your service or pay this much. It gets taken more seriously then generic I don't like this.

Considering how few people have signed them in the 3-7 months I don't think it's as a big as you think. Kinda funny as someone put one of them as a human rights issue.

I can't take this seriously. It really just sounds petty and half-assed. You don't just kick a service to the curb without any reasonable plan for afterwards. No thought to the replacement? Expecting the "perfect service" to miraculously drop from the sky? This is how you screw yourself over and not having anything for who knows how long.

I know that MysticGon, but you need to join one of the petitions on change.org to get Sony Yay to be shut down for good or else the Indian otaku fans will be poor without Animax India!

penguincat, I don't think getting either VRV or NBC shut down isn't a good idea.

Cardamom_Ginger, I know but it's part of the petition for getting to get Sony Yay to be shut down on either January 2018 or February 2018 in India because it pisses off otaku viewers for replacing Animax India!
