The terms is taken from the website called Television Tropes and Idioms. I use abstract options in place of the more concrete options of warrior, mage, and rogue since the abstract options could be generalized to more types of fighting games like gun games.

Tank focus on defense and protection of party members.
Damager focus on damage dealing but tend to have weak defense unless the damager class in question could also be function as tank.
Support focus on healing, ally boosting, enermy hindering, or indirect attack.
Utility take roles outside of battle like scout, travel assistance, lock picking, treasure hunter, or item production.

If I could relate the roles to the Accel World color code, then tank would be green, damager would be purple, support would be white or yellow, and utility would be white.

"Utility," mostly. Some years ago, I got a ten-day, free trial of WoW: Mists of Pandaria. I spent most of my time sneaking around and exploring. I did something similar with DC Universe Online, and I'm very much a LoZ treasure fiend.

I don't play online RPGs. I play stuff like D&D. My favorite class is the Ranger which is multipurpose. Some magic, scouting, bowman, and melee with armor and sword.

I would take different RPG roles depending on, using the economist term, the supply and demand. In general, I would prefer support because I associate the role of support with team leadership, highly demanding occupation, and active interpersonal mediator.
On another topic, the warrior, mage, and rogue could fulfill the role of damanger to varying extent but the other roles are associated to one of the three classes: warrior with tank, mage with support, and rogue with utility.

Some where between support and utility
I've already kind of accepted that 1v1 I will lose
2v2 and I'll wrek your shit. I notice, observe, strategize, feed that to my team (because I can't always execute)
And I love generally just being annoying and cheeky as hell.

Interestingly enough, I just finished watching Kuroko No Basuke, which is is nice coincidence.

Probably damager.

Depends on the game, but I'd assume DPS role is the easiest for most of them.

as I tend to settle into tank and damage, I find damage to be more my style since that's how I tend to play Destiny where I like to dash in, kill and nearly die forcing a quick retreat for quick heal.

I like to get all up in the action so I usually play tank characters.

Support but also damage. I prefer support because it'd be easier to heal myself as well as other teammates.
