There are many great anime series out there, which never got the credit/exposure they deserve. If you believe an anime series (or multiple series) you watched should get more recognition, please mention them down below.

Shinsekai Yori, ever in the shadow of Shingeki no Kyojin, despite being arguably better.

Ajin got way too overlooked because of it's CG animation. The story is amazing, almost to the level of Parasyte I would say.

Working!! or Wagnaria!!: This comedy series is hugely LOL entertaining with its ensemble cast and has great dramatic elements amongst the relationships.
Nanana's Buried Treasure: Another A-1 Pictures-produced series that doesn't get enough love, this has an amazing feel of action-adventure and supernatural with its treasure hunting and its titular character's charm.
Ben-To: Came out during the Occupy movement of 2011, this series' underlying subtext behind the absurd premise with fantastic fight scenes, fan service that enhance the female characters' beauty and funny humor, still holds up and speaks to many people outside of the high school audience aimed to see this series.
Anne Happy: Silver Link's most high-concept and absurdist slice-of-life comedy to date, this takes the idea common amongst all series of this ilk about friendship and togetherness and goes full throttle with the set ups it creates in each episode.
Scorching Ping Pong Girls: Above average sports, high school, slice-of-life comedy with likable characters, amazing sakuga in its playing sequences with a bumping OST.

Log Horizon.

People talk way too much about Sword Art Online, especially its flaws, to the point of ignoring Log Horizon. I mean, really, Log Horizon is all about the group compared to SAO being about the individual! And everyone loves an anime series when it's the entire ensemble that gets some focus, and not just the main protagonist alone. Plus, as a group-based experience, LH is a much more accurate portrayal of the MMORPG experience than SAO, right down to the mechanics and concepts such as tank/DPS/heal and forming guilds or raid groups.

And, we can't forget about Shiroe, the main protagonist of Log Horizon. He plays a support class that emphasizes buffs and debuffs, rather than high-level damage with either physical attacks or spells like most other classes. In-turn, it lets him do what he does best that separates him from Kirito from SAO: Uniting entire groups of players under his one banner. In other words, he'd suck as a hero compared to Kirito, but makes for a superior leader.

I don't know about overall but, right this very season, Land of the Lustrous is getting criminally overlooked (probably largely because of the "Ewwww CG" effect)

Technically not this season... but +1.

I was going to say Land of the Lustrous... Now what am I supposed to say. Guess I'll fall back on a slice of life.
A Place Further Than The Universe is still pretty underrated; despite its popularity slowly increasing due to word of mouth.
