Funny story! I told my brother about this site, because I wanted him to experience all its greatness. Anyway, he had just gotten Vista on his computer and when he went to CR it told him "Warning: this site is riddled with spyware and viruses. Leave this site and never go back." ... Or something very close to that.

So I don't know if it is or Vista's just an overprotective pansy, but I don't really worry about it... it hasn't ceased function on my computer yet.

http://www.ie7pro.com

for ie users, just download this, and those pesky adverts are done (though you would think the admin would chose the adverts a bit more carefully? - but I guess its his site)

It is an ad related virus. Usually, when I browse CR without supporter status and there are ads at the top of a page, I usually get a pop up that looks similar to this [credit goes to Spyware Sucks (http://msmvps.com/blogs/spywaresucks/archive/2007/11/06/1284798.aspx)]:

Nothing has happened to my computer though. Usually I just Alt-F4 and it goes away. Some people don't know that they shouldn't press the "Cancel" button.

That happens to me alot too, but what dos happen f you press the cancel button and not Alt-F4?

maybe you should stop visiting the porn sites (haha jk)
I didnt get a virus...yet..

Correction: Choose more reliable porn sites. I watch porn, yet I've yet to be infected with a trojan or virus.

I never noticed the pop-up ads even before I became a supporter, probably because my browser (firefox) is set to block them and most certainly I've yet to get a virus or trojan warning.

The window that appears isn't like your usual window where you press "Cancel/Close" and the program closes. Anywhere you press in the open window will redirect you somewhere else...well, that's usually the case, anyways. Each pop-up is different.

When it's a pop-up like that that you're dealing with, the best thing to do is to click the "X" at the top right corner or Alt-F4 to close the window instead.

Ohh thanks, because I was thinking I can still get a virus that way and to say one more thing I use Firefox as well but well browsing through the site like clicking on the anime section, I think I got a virus once, not too sure about it but...

Yeah I also got a virus or malware on my computer a few times from Crunchyroll. It took me a little while to figure out where it was coming from. I even got it while using firefox, but it was an older firefox. I think the newest version of firefox is safe though.

I know crunchyroll has to pay their bills, but they shouldn't do it like that. I would love to show other people this site, but a lot of people I know only use IE. Besides it's gonna suck when we start getting viruses on Fire Fox.

Yup, i've had that Malaware popup as well. I use Mozilla.

I click on the little X at the top but redirects me to some stupid web page, which i close.

It's annoying and a bit disconcerting
