Wondering what else will disappear without warning. Would be nice to have some warning, eh? How about an email notification a couple weeks before removing something from your Queue?

So is Girlish Number, I hope it's just temporary.

If it helps, Flip Flappers season 1 is on Hulu. (EDIT: And so is Girlish Number, so... probably not a coincidence)

I don't think CR always has the luxury of lead time in these situations. Yes, it would be nice to have some warning, but they can't give you what they don't have.

Also Classicaloid was apparently removed. Check out those Sentai-licensed shows during the Fall 2016 season.

EDIT: Uta no Prince-sama Legend Star was also apparently gone from CR. All of those were sublicensed from Sentai Filmworks during the Fall 2016 season.

Any reason why you have to go down that route? As its on both animelab and hidive for Australia.

Unless CR got a legal cease & desist notice or something, I don't see how they would not have any warning. They license the shows, with official contracts and all. The know when these contracts expire. They may still be in negotiations about contract renewal until the final day, but that's no excuse to not warn their customer base! Netflix lists near future expiration dates on My List page (browser version, anyway), and if they renew the contract that expiration date goes away. Why can't CR do the same??

Anyway, this probably means all Sentai stuff is in danger? Guess I should get around to finishing Hentai Prince and watching ef: tale of *.

Contracts can also be renewed, and if that is usually the case, it would be like crying wolf to let people know every time a series might not be renewed. Some contracts could also be written so that the license becomes "at will" after a certain date, meaning the series could be here almost indefinitely, but could also be pulled by the licensor on very short notice.

Perhaps you should take a class or two in business contract law.

Even if it wasn't part of the contract terms (and that kind of business information would never be publicly divulged), if Sentai didn't give express permission to make an announcement about it, CR would be stupid to go ahead and do that. Somewhere down the road, relationships might change (whoever thought Funi and CR would ever become partners?) and at that time, a business wouldn't want to be remembered as the ones who came out publicly and said something to the effect of "Oh, it's not our fault, it's because these expletives took it away from us". Doing that would kind of shut the door on future negotiations.

CR has on occasion in the past announced some shows leaving ahead of time, sometimes a week, sometimes longer, and they couldn't do that unless they were given permission. But it doesn't always happen for every show that disappears. When it doesn't then you should realize that there must be a legitimate non-disclosable business reason. Yes, it's a pain to have something just disappear, but sometimes they do come back, and CR has more of a chance to make that happen if they do not burn any bridges on any of their business relationships.

OH NO I didn't even notice it was gone. I was waiting until winter break to get through my "on hold" backlog.

Yeah I'm pretty bummed about this. Had it on my queue for a while and finally got around to watching it, and got cut off half way through.

Damn, I was gonna finish watching Girlish Number tonight and I was wondering why it was gone. Hopefully it does come back, doubt it though since Sentai and CR's relationship is rocky at the moment.

I doubt it will any time in the foreseeable future, but as you are in the US, you can still watch it at HIDIVE or Hulu:
