Just a quick question for you peeps out there.

How do you get out of your after series anime watch rut? for any who is not sure what that means its when you watch an awesome anime series (for me it was RE Creators) and then your stuck in limbo deciding what series to watch next but all you end up doing is staring at your que confused where to go. Idk maybe im weird but this always happens to me like months after a good series then i finally get over it and continue on my watching binges.....

So i guess how do you guys deal with getting out of this "rut"? just randomly click a series and watch?

just throw a dart at the board really. It would be cool if they had a randomize feature for the que. I literally have hundreds of shows in my que.

Also I watch a lot of short clips on Youtube, that usually gets me into a show.

Quick answer. I don't.

When Devil Is A Part Timer ended, I think I binged that anime atleast 10 times during that month alone.

Believe I did the same after finishing FMA: Brotherhood, which was impressive even by my standards, considering its 52 episodes xD

I have a long list of anime to watch, and pick randomly. If I like it great, if not then nope.

I know the feeling, once I've finished an awesome anime it kind of raises the bar so I feel like anything new would just be disappointing. I felt that way after watching Parasyte.

I just do what I always do and add a bunch of stuff to my queue that looks halfway interesting and hope for the best.

Nothing. I just wait until I'm in the mood again, however long that'll take. I don't like the idea of forcing myself to watch something, because it'd seem more like a job than personal enjoyment. That said; I usually map out series that I intend on eventually getting around to (months to years in advance), so it's not like I don't have clear options ready for when my "anime libido" recovers.

Thats exactly how i feel!! like the bar is raised sooooo high that you look at your que and just think to yourself..... boy i dont know how this series can be topped.....

Thats actually a great suggestion there.... cause it does feel like a chore to look at your huge list and just feel like you HAVE to watch a new series. Maybe i should just wait awhile until my high gets down to normal and start on a new series. perhaps re watch shows that i have bought on my blu ray until then eh?

I kinda let it run its course tbh. And I just really look at my plan to watch section on MAL. If I find some cool ass show that sticks out to me as incredible, I'll get out of the rut on the spot and watch it.

Let it fade and soak in the afterglow lol

Pick up a new series when you're ready and find something interesting. Until then, just enjoy how much that anime moved you.

I'll take a couple of days to really think about it, and remember what really made it awesome. Then I look at my queue, and I just pick the first one that seems appealing. Sometimes I choose one that I've heard good things about, or one that seems like it has an interesting plot, or it could just be as simple of a reason as I just though the title sounded cool.

I know the feeling, some are so damn good, I will just want more of those characters I started to really dig.

Honestly, I will usually watch some episodes of Gintama in between until I find that next series I want to binge. I get good laughs outta gintama and its touching sometimes also but it's not something I can really binge hard so it is a good filler until I find something I will really get into.

That and I will probably never catch up because there is so many episodes (I think im like on 190ish lol)

Pretty much, I just pick something that I queued and go watch it. Nothing to it as while feeling can be agonizing knowing that such an excellent show just ended, there's always other stuff to watch. So yeah, getting out of that rut is a simple thing to do.
