Hi I was hoping someone can help me. I am really confused on how the VRV system/service works. I am thinking of doing the VRV plan. I want to re-new my Crunchyroll premium membership pretty soon. And I already have a FUNimation membership. How does all this work? Is there a guide on how to do this? If I already pay for both FUNimation/Crunchyroll for example. Do you get a discount on the VRV services provided to you? I also saw on the app that you can link your FUNimation/Crunchyroll accounts to your VRV account. I'm already paying for FUNimation and am planning on getting Crunchyroll turned on next week. So how will VRV be beneficial to me exactly? Any pros/cons I should know? Sorry guys I'm just new to this thing so I was hoping someone can help me get this figured out. I know the VRV plan is like 8 something a month? "Correct me if I'm wrong" How does that work if I already want to pay for both FUNimation and Crunchyroll together? Do I still have to pay the $8.00 for the service its self? Thanks. Hope someone can clear this for me and sorry if I got the price wrong. Have a great weekend!

VRV is the sister site to crunchy
so if you have premium with Crunchy you can link it with your VRV account and gain the same benefits

VRV is used if for example, crunchy is being overloaded, you can then use VRV if you cannot access Crunchy.
I'm sure VRV has more uses than just a backup to Crunchy, but thats the basic idea ive gathered as last night when Crunchy was overloaded it was redirecting to VRV.

someone else can fill in the blanks that is more familiar with it i think..

this may also explain it better

VRV is available in the US only. It consists of several "channels" which you can subscribe to as a bundle (the Combo Pack) for $9.99 a month. That includes all the channels. However, you don't have to subscribe to the bundle. You can subscribe to one or more individual channels. Crunchyroll is one of the channels and Funimation is another but together they add up to more than $9.99 so the Combo Pack would be better than subscribing to those individual channels.

Right now (and my guess is this is not just temporary) only dubbed content from Funimation is on VRV, and there are some Funimation titles which, due to licensing restrictions, are not included in the Funimation channel on VRV even though they are streamed on Funimation. Because of the CR/Funi partnership many Funi subbed shows are still in the process of being moved over to Crunchyroll and when they are those subs show up on VRV. Again, there are possibly exceptions.

As to linking, as far as I know right now you can only link the Crunchyroll account--not Funi, not any other channel (but I don't have the latest app so if you are clearly seeing something different then maybe that's new--the website still shows me only "Link Crunchyroll.") This link just means that you can pay for a subscription that includes the Crunchyroll channel on VRV, and and if you link to your Crunchyroll account you can use the Crunchyroll site as a premium member without having to pay separately for the membership. Things like your queue and watch history are not linked--they are completely separate on VRV and CR. An advantage of linking is that some shows are only on CR and aren't on VRV (last I looked, One Piece was one of those).

Here's the VRV FAQ which you might find useful. https://help.vrv.co/hc/en-us

I suggest going ahead and signing up for VRV using the 30 day trial that is currently being offered there. That way you can poke around and see if it's got the Funimation stuff you are most interested in before deciding whether or not to drop your existing Funi subscription.

Thanks. I done the 30 day free trial. And so far I'm liking the content it's got in there. Hopefully there will be more stuff added in the future. I like the idea that I can stream shows on my PS4 too. ^_^ Thanks for the reply.
