I can download the crunchyroll app onto my Roku smart tv but it will not open. I have done the factory reset, uninstalled and reinstalled, and all updates are complete. Any ideas?

Try removing the device if it exists here: /acct/?action=devices

Not saying that's it, but worth a shot...

How do you get a device to exist on there? Not sure if that may be my issue.

Well, if there's nothing there, then that answers the question of whether you had added it accidentally, and it was just messed up...

With mine, all I had to do was start the app and go to settings.

Just in case, have you removed power completely by unplugging or turning off the power strip after installing?

Sometimes, just after I power on my TV, if I'm too quick, I have to try to start it twice, because the first attempt occasionally sends me back to the main menu. But it has always at least started up the second attempt for me... It does take a very long time to initialize and get past the "cigarette" progress bar before it gets going.

Once in the app, assuming you can get there, you press the star/splat/asterisk key to bring up the pop-up menu and go to settings. That will give you a choice of logging in (on the right side) or noting the activation display code (left side) you can enter here /activate

But if you can't even start the app, I don't know how you could do it. Your only option is to put in a support request: /contact

I'm not sure they will be able to help if the app simply never even starts. You're the first that I've seen ever report a problem exactly like that.
