For me, the best I can think of is Log Horizon. Compared to SAO, which reinforced the individual, Log Horizon was all about the group, and how said group was able to be united and centralized under Shiroe's leadership. And even then, it mostly has to do with the fact that it all takes place in an MMORPG, and that teamwork in a game like this is much more expected than in SAO.

Others I can think of include Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040, due to the Knight Sabers essentially being a Super Sentai; One Piece because of the Straw Hat Pirates being "nakama" to each other; and Gundam 00, due to the Celestial Being Gundam meisters' teamwork with each other.

I think Haikyuu is one of the best anime representations of team work and friendship (and its funny as hell).

Kokoro connect as well.

I've been very happy to see Boku no Hero Academia move in this direction. The first season was mostly about individuals trying to be the best as standard for shonen, but in season two, more teamwork begins to emerge, in the tournament, "practical exams" and beyond.

There's still the competitive aspect, but it's cool seeing the kids start to look at each other as teammates and allies instead of just rivals.

Amagi Brilliant Park is a great comedy that makes strong use of an ensemble cast working toward a single goal. Sure, the relationships are often bizarre and wildly dysfunctional, but at the end of the day everyone wants the same thing and everyone does their part.

Also along comedy lines, Konosuba does this well. The anime makes the point again and again that even though the main cast is a collection of misfits who are individually ridiculous and mostly useless, put together they can do all kinds of things. Maybe not gracefully, maybe not without leaving giant, smoking craters here and there, but the job gets done.

Is Naruto included? xD

Log Horizon, so many people talk about this anime is better than S.A.O I think I should watch it. Is the episodes horribly a lot like Shippuden, or only as a few as S.A.O? If hope the anime is completed too because I don't want to wait too long. xD

@sabrinapaulinor hi sab, nice to see you here. ^^ Is Haikyuu an anime about volleyball?'

Displaying teamwork is ubiquitous in shounen-style anime. If that’s what you’re into, you should try some sports shounen like Haikyuu or Slam Dunk. If you want to watch quality friendship but want something other than the normal shounen stuff, I’d recommend something like K-On! or any other slice-of-life that relies on the characters interactions rather than a plot. There are also workplace anime like Girlish Number that can give you a teamwork aspect without all of the shounen tropes you’re so used to.

Just wrapped up Little Witch Academia on Netflix, and it absolutely belongs in this category. While it's very much Akko's story, it's also undeniably about the friends she makes, and that she could not do what she does without their help, all the way to the very, very end.

It's a lot of fun and very sweet without being saccharine. Good one to watch over the holidays.

Death Note. Friendship exists in its truest form, deceit and exploitation. <3
