Don't forget that we trained "rebel" fighters to fight Assad and they then disappeared after training only to join ISIS and share their newly learned knowledge. Great plan Obama destabilize a country, train an Islamic State's fighters, and make sure they have a good supply of weapons to be stolen or found missing.

What a disaster Obama's coup turned out to be. Nation building never works neither does destabilizing countries.

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Arms provided by the United States and Saudi Arabia to Syrian opposition groups frequently ended up in the hands of Islamic State, an arms monitoring group that analyzed weapons found on the battlefield said on Thursday.

Conflict Armament Research (CAR) said most Islamic State weapons were looted from the Iraqi and Syrian armies. But some were originally provided by other countries, mainly the United States and Saudi Arabia, to Syrian opposition groups fighting against President Bashar al-Assad.

"These findings are a stark reminder of the contradictions inherent in supplying weapons into armed conflicts in which multiple competing and overlapping non-state armed groups operate," the group said in a 200-page report.

CAR documented at least 12 cases of weaponry purchased by the United States that ended up in Islamic State's hands, either captured on the battlefield or acquired through shifting alliances within the Syrian opposition. Most of these items later ended up in Iraq, the monitor said.

In one case, it took only two months for Islamic State fighters in Iraq to get their hands on a guided anti-tank missile the United States bought from a European country and supplied to a Syrian opposition group.

All of the items were made in EU states, and in most cases the United States broke contractual clauses prohibiting retransfers by giving the weapons to armed groups in Syria.

"Evidence collected by CAR indicates that the United States has repeatedly diverted EU-manufactured weapons and ammunition to opposition forces in the Syrian conflict. IS forces rapidly gained custody of significant quantities of this materiel."

CAR said it similarly traced numerous items used by Islamic State back to exports from Bulgaria to Saudi Arabia, and that these were also subject to non-retransfer clauses that should have barred them from being supplied to Syrian warring parties.

Around 90 percent of weapons and ammunition used by Islamic State in Syria and Iraq were made in China, Russia, and Eastern European countries, CAR said, with China and Russia alone accounting for over 50 percent.

"These findings support widespread assumptions that the group initially captured much of its military materiel from Iraqi and Syrian government forces," the report said.

Russian-made weapons used by Islamic State in Syria outnumbered Chinese ones, "presumably reflecting Russian supplies to the Syrian regime," CAR said.

Russia is allied with Assad and launched air strikes in Syria in September 2015, its biggest Middle East intervention in decades, turning the tide of the conflict in his favor.

On Saturday Iraq declared final victory over Islamic State, which seized more than a third of the country's territory in 2014. Last week Russia declared victory over the group in Syria.

CAR reported last year that Islamic State had been making its own weapons on a scale and with sophistication matching national military forces, and that it had standardized production across its realm.

I'm not even surprised. Trump got it right, drop a huge bomb on your enemies, not supple them weapons.

I mean, that's kind of how war goes. You get killed on the battlefield, the enemy gets to pick up whatever you left behind. I'm not really sure why anyone would be surprised about this. If there is any exchange of land, some exchange of weaponry is inevitable.

Yes the Iraqi's were abandoning their tanks, artillery, and humvees like here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/islamic-state/11616780/Iraqi-army-abandoned-tanks-artillery-and-Humvees-to-Isil-in-fall-of-Ramadi.html

But we were sending tons of arms to a bunch of undefined rebels. Sometimes those rebels would just decide to switch sides to ISIS then take all their weapons with them that we gave them courtesy of the American tax payers. We would give weapons to rebels only to have the rebels sell the arms to ISIS for cash to pay their fighters... It was just a cluster fuck that we started and tried to keep going. Glad Trump just bombed them to hell and called it done.

I'd believe it. Our CIA is a rouge organization operating outside of all laws. Our military is known for "losing" entire crates full of weapons even while they were "on a plane flying to a base". We got so much shadow shit going on its sickening.

So Obama caused both the Arab Spring and Assad to violently crack down on his people demonstrating for his ouster?

That article does not support any of that. The furthest it goes is to speculate that some rebels trained by the CIA may have defected to ISIS.

Also, the CIA operates under the National Security Act of 1947. How does an agency operating under laws that establish their conduct in intelligence gathering operate "outside of all laws"?

US weapons ending up in the hands of US enemies is an American tradition going back decades. >.>

You are the world's biggest weapon exporter and your biggest clients are Middle Eastern countries. Saudi Arabia is your biggest customer. Followed by the United Arab Emirates. Iraq and Egypt are also in your top 10. Practically all of the weapons in the middle east come from you or Russia.

Oh, and if you're really wondering why brand new weapons might be ending up in ISIS's hands ask Saudi Arabia. You know, the country Trump now loves because they threw him a prom and let him get to second base with their Loc-Nar.

nothing can destroy a country better and faster than a leader who is bent on doing so as being brainwashed by Kenyan Politics. but that's the joys of presidents, you never know what you're going to get, they are worse than that box of chocolates. now, imagine what a third term obama (hilary) would have been. so many scandals covered up and a strong possibility that even more stuff was to be given to the middle east, so much for women rights when it comes to this woman. not only did she find fault in bill's rape victims, but she took and gave money to the middle east, as did obama. ever notice when there's a lot of trouble and/or something new/else has come out these little snakes slither back under their rocks for temporary regrouping... (yes both sides this suits well)

Obama and Hilary were actually very different. Don't lump them together like you're some political expert.

sad to say I am a political expert and they are both slithering snakes bent on destroying America and controlling the world like most dems do, most politics want to control the world, either good or bad, some dems very bad as well as some reps. but I suppose you're right, they are different in the sense that obama used hilary and threw her under the bus to cover his own butt. and obama didn't blame a video for the death of four soldiers... oh hey you are right, they are totally different people.

When met with proof that you lied, just tell everyone else that you're an "expert" providing no supporting material whatsoever, it's always convincing.

You and Rujikin must get along very well, your tendency to tell the truth, especially in this thread, is equal in its potency.
