Whoopi Goldberg made a great Santa once, so yeah not only black but female too! so, I have no problem with Santa being whatever. there's Santa in shorts, Santa homosexual and I know there's a transgender Santa. so, it's no big deal nor does it offend me none, it's a holiday for all why be so territorial over something that's suppose to be fun for all.

I have 2 questions...

Why does this exist?
What does it's existence accomplish?

I imagine it exists because gay couples raising children exist. And it's a closer reflection of the parents than a straight Santa, helping their kids feel that much more normal on Christmas.

I guess that makes sense in a way. It's just that I've always regarded Santa as a figure of good nature and love and never really associated him with sexual preference. Like I knew about Mrs. Claus when I was a kid, but I was too young to even think about straight couples and whatnot.

honestly, most kids who you will be reading a santa claus book to will be under 10

that being said if they are too young to learn about straight sex and relationships then they are too young to learn about gay sex and relationships

I was fine with diverse santas until that shit came along , that's just pushing it , by it I mean not a gay agenda but the "line" so to speak , I cant thinkof the term right now lol

Well you're still not answering my question so I guess I will have to ask them. I'll need you to point them out to me though since for something felt by supposed "shitloads of black people" there seems to be a tremendous lack of such reactions. I did find one white guy complaining about it on fox news though, and even he didn't entertain idiotic delusions of gay conspiracies. The article did have a clear basis in prejudice though, so I guess that part lines up.

What I like about this is the author of the article noted that the author of the book partially wrote the book specifically to troll people like the author of the article. -.-

You're sort of demonstrating why the book or similar things are written. Children are, quite obviously, exposed to relationships from the get go. Also, quite obviously, they understand relationships without having to tell them about sex. If they see a wider range of diversity they won't be a dick about it when they grow up and encounter things in the Real World(tm). Or if they are black, gay, etc etc etc or have family or friends as such they can see themselves or their family in the media. Which is pretty important.

Since when has teaching kids the basic relationship dynamics of couples living together and/or marriage involved sex? And how is explaining that 'Uncle Steve and his partner Mike love each other very much' any different than 'Uncle Steve and his partner Martha love each other very much'? It's not as if stories of a Mrs. Claus involve any details of the two bumping uglies, why should it be any different for a gay Santa?

People still take picture with santa clause now a day no ? how about providing more choices ? I have no interesting in taking a picture with some guy with a beard that is for sure.

but these Santa clauses... $10 a picture ?? they will make plenty of profit with this. Host it at some anime convention center or something

This is the only kind of change to Santa I'd be willing to accept.

It's cool because it's just like those who voted for Trump solely out of a desire for "stigginit to the libruls" except it doesn't have a heavy tangible effect on the lives of the people it's trolling. It's a win-win.

I think they charge $30 per picture with those actors at the anime convention.

I don't care unless it's being used to force an agenda or shit on someone because they just happen to have a stereotypically white male santa.

Life was good before everything became a political message.. When a cigar was just a cigar. And a donut just a donut. And I could watermelon with chopsticks without someone criticizing me for it being either racially insensitive or cultural appropriation, or both (true story)

Does it really matter? To add more versions of a fictional character which is only relevant for one day of the year?

No. I never understood the reason to change characters or heros or whatnot just to bend to current PC culture.
Like what is the point to recast a character in another race or gender? Why not create new, unique, memorable characters that can stand on their own stories or lore. Growing up in the 90s one of my favorite superhero cartoons was Static Shock. The show had a unique cast with a storyline and characters quite different than existing ones. Star Wars has recently done the same thing, so it has been done and imo it's the better way to promote more diversity in fictional works.

Black Santa would get shot by cops if he tried to crawl down a chimney.

You can show me all the mall santas in the world, but when's the last time when a Christmas movie came out with a Eddie Murphy or Jackie Chan playing not a mall santa, but a Santa Claus at the North Pole? Where's the movie where Rihanna comes down my chimney? Where Antonio Banderas fills my stockings? Where Will Smith yells "Ho ho ho, and to all a good night"?

More like; how often do self-respecting stars want to portray North Pole Santa, period? Also, Antonio Banderas isn't known to be anything other than white. He's from Malaga, Spain.

Oh wow. That's a major factual error on my part. Sorry about that.
