So I just took advantage of the new Catalogue addition of Jormungand and started rewatching it. It has a very gritty 'Black Lagoon' vibe to it, that makes it quite delicious to watch.

I encourage people to give it a try and see what they think.

It was okay, not great, until it sucked hard. The "ultimate plan" really was awful and stupid. It should not have worked, really, and they should not have gotten away with it, the villains.

No it wasn't as deep as it tried to be. but it certainly gave me a good action fix until John Wick came along.

Certainly, sure. It didn't lack for action, and perhaps excitement. It just all fell apart in the end. Other than that, it carried itself okay. The fact that they told you Koko was crazy from the very beginning was interesting in its own way.

I think it was pretty good, in that Quentin Tarantino kind of movie way
Some cool female characters in it, and it makes reference to contemporary events, like drones, Russia in its sphere of influence, Chinese spheres of influence in Africa, cryptography

I don't think it's as good as Black Lagoon because Black Lagoon sticks to relatively realistic criminal enterprises while I thought Jormungand veered too much into the grandiose; also the fact that Koko keeps a 13 year old boy around instead of sending him to school in Europe or something is a little uncomfortable.

Yeah, I thought that was overly grandiose. Somebody in Koko's postion probably wouldn't have aspirations like that. The

It's been awhile since I watched, so are you referring to

That was a part of it, though her desired outcome was more broad than that if I recall correctly. At best she causes chaos for a few weeks, maybe a couple months to a year. At worst, she's made enemies of the entire world who will crush her and her band of dupes.
