Al Gore predicted the north polar ice cap would be completely ice free by now. Gore made the prediction to a German audience in 2008. He told them that “the entire North ‘polarized’ cap will disappear in 5 years.”

He said the Earth would reach a poi t of no return and if we didn't listen we were all DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED. Well here we are almost 2 years after the point of no return and the end is not here. The ancient god queztacotl has not risen from the sea to devour--- oops wrong dooms day its easy to get insane dooms day predictions mixed up.

All of the panic, rallying cries against the evil science deniers, and attacking anyone who doesnt believe in the book of Gore and it was a hoax. It wasn't science. It was a random guess based on bad scenarios that couldn't even stand up to the scrutiny of time. Science is fact or at least a testable theory that can be reproduced but climate science is always moving their goal post back or expanding what they consider is doom.

I remember being taught in class that by this year parts of Florida would be under water. By 2020 the coastal regions would be engulfed by the sea. Still hasn't happened. Still no signs of it happening. Watch the goal post get moved back to 2030 then 2040 then 2050 until they happen to be right by sheer luck and then claim "see we were right!!!". Conviently forgetting all the failed predictions.

Former Vice President Al Gore references computer modeling to suggest that the north polar ice cap may lose virtually all of its ice within the next seven years. “Some of the models suggest that there is a 75 percent chance that the entire north polar ice cap during some of the summer months could be completely ice-free within the next five to seven years ” says Gore.
In January 2006 Al Gore posited “within the next 10 years the world will reach a point of no return” and “a true planetary emergency” due to global warming.
Of course this turned out to be nothing more than complete lunacy.
At least 8 Dire Predictions from the movie never happened – not even close.

Member when people in the 50's were saying we would run out of oil in the 80's?

Member when people in the 80's were saying we would run out of oil in 2000?

Member when people in 2000 were saying we would run out by 2020?

Notice a trend? Always a prediction of doom with " incomplete" data. When are they saying we will run out of oil now I wonder?

Remember when people thought 2012 was the end of the world just because of a calendar? Made me laugh so hard.

Yeah I do that was hilarious. Ironically they adjusted the date and said they misinterpreted the text so its going to happen sometime in the future, I forget when.

What? Video games led me to this? Fake news.

Climate "scientists" led me to this because they are wrong 80% of the time. The only thing they get right are broad statements that anyone with a knowledge of earths temperature could predict. "Earth will get warmer" well no shit, we are only came out of an ice age that was suppressing Earths temperature and we are having quite a lack of major volcanic explosions to reduce light as normally happens.

Let me see the math equation that led you to 80% of the time. It better be good math or I will stamp your topic with a Fake News banner. You have 24 hours to comply.

Also because you are a gamer who was led to conservatism by GamerGate allow me to make a recommendation that may lead you to a different path.

Remember. I need that math equation. Or you are getting the stamp.

Just a couple more for fun the year 2000 say two completely different groups claiming the end of the world.
Religious and technophobes

Religious made out that it was going to be when God/Jesus returned and then a smite of all the bad people which would cause the end of the world.
Technophobes Y2k. No power no water no nothing.

Neither of them seemed to have happened.

Really doom and gloom drives sales and get peoples attention. Anyone that writes a book or writes in a newspaper wants the sky is falling claim every so often. The more often the better though. Even you OP love a sky is falling claim every so often.

And that is part of the reason why people listen to actual scientists when it comes to science and not politiciaHAHAHAHA.

I'm sorry, I couldn't even say that with a straight face.

I also remember Michio Kaku (Theoretical Physicist not a geologist) on various media outlets saying that there was like a ???% chance that Yellowstone was gonna explode either today or maybe 100,000 years from now.

You know.... I dont even really want to respond in kind to this. You are absolutely clueless and are just throwing out random accusations hoping one will stick just like climate scientists. *Obama mic drop*

How Bout you list some specific human caused climate change effects that came true that was predicted before 2000. They failed on sea levels rising, ice levels, global cooling, crop yields, and mass extinctions.

Completely different.

Honestly not even in the same field-house of study.

And one is making a claim where the other isn't.

Ill admit They are pretty funny and I do look forward to seeing the lulz that come from them. Though I have a more fallout type look on "doom". All doom means is a major change in the world that people dislike because it breaks the established order. Heck the Trump election was Doom to many people.

Meteor hits earth and destroys us!!!!! DOOOOOOM! well not really. It may be the doom of the current age but the start of the next age.

Yellowstone is probably going to blow at some point. It has a huge highly pressurized magma chamber that is leaking all over. The only thing really holding it in place is its above a super thick part of crust. Dont quote me on this but I think its suppose to move to a thinner piece of crust within the next 100,000 years so there is a good chance it will go BOOM. Really predicting when is pointless as it will decide when it blows. We may get a small advance warning of a few years but when it wants to blow it will and it will be YUGE.

I don't know about everything else, but we can agree on this much: I am also disappointed that Florida hasn't sunk yet.
