So, tell me, which lettuce taste best for salads in your opinion?

Bonus Question:

Do you prefer salad dressing or none at all? If you do prefer dressing, which kind do you like?

I would put the option for "all the above" but that would be too easy.

What do you think?

Iceberg. Its got that nice texture crunchy texture to it.

Bonus answer: None at all. Sure it'd taste better with dressing but all the calories are in it Salad wouldn't be as healthy as you'd think!

Do you add a little salt and pepper or juices from a lemon?

We have these salad bars in grocery stores where you can pick whatever you want in your salad, and the chicken is usually seasoned. Iceberg, chicken, feta is usually my go-to, kinda boring and dry but I like it.

Nothing wrong with that. As long as you enjoy the salad, you can have it any way you want.

of the choices, Iceberg all the way! for salad dressing I typically do fat free something, it's hard to find so I have to pay a bit more. I don't load my salad down, but my stomach can't handle things well, so, has to be low fat. because I also like to add cottage cheese, cheese, fake bacon bits, croutons, pepperoni... I typically go all out when it comes to making a salad.

You can have my croutons. I hate those things.

Iceberg is by far the tastiest lettuce. But by no means is it the healthiest

And I don't like salad dressing, anything vinegar based is a no go for me.. Prefer meat, cheese, sunflower seeds and bacon bits. Splash of olive oil is the closest I'll do to dressing.

Spinach, oak leaf (red and green) lettuce, arugula, radicchio, some baby romaine....

Some people complain about it and herald the rise of the iceberg lettuce again, but i remember prior to spring mix's rise to power EVERY salad you ever got was iceberg... Unless you went with a caesar, and that's romaine.

I'm not saying simply spinach or romaine don't have a place (and they taste far better than kale), but spring mix is the best for all round purposes and have some actual flavor.

The only thing people do with iceburg is drown it in toppings and dressing (like the popular wedge salad) or use it as filler on sandwiches (which, spring mix tastes better on sammiches anyhow).

So yeah.. Spring mix again FTW. Spinach if you're going to cook it, romaine if you need crunch.. (and romaine makes a better wedge salad anyway.. And you can grill it, taking that silly wedge salad to the next level)

Chances are you've already had it. It's kinda common, and if there's been a mixture of greens in your salads (they all look different), that's probably spring mix.
