We saw anime girls running and they all ran like normal people ! When one of them stumbled she didn't even fall! Unbelievable.

On a more serious note, I have to say that I enjoyed this episode a lot more than first one. They explained many things that bothered me in the first episode and acknowledged that it's basically impossible for underage girls to participate in an expedition to Antarctica.

Second week, first new show of the season. And what a ride it's going to be. If there is a gem in this season, this is the one.

Incidentally, they mention Showa Station, which is an actual Antarctic station. Just another element in the rendering of this series in lifting beyond the normal sort of anime into something special.

Ah, the innocence of youth...

Hinata seems pretty cool; you gotta love a character whose primary motivation is to give a giant middle finger to a large group of people.

It's too bad the expedition is giving them the cold shoulder, but I suppose that makes sense, especially after seeing Kimari's sexy poses. Truly, she could melt the ice caps with those moves.

I liked how the women wordlessly split up when the girls did. You got the sense they're used to working together.

The first episode sold the dream, this one is the reality check. (I liked this one better too, but mostly for the Genki Girl.)

The one thing that bothers me is the missing mother explanation, and It'll likely be bugging me all season.

Episode two upped the ante. Now the girls have to prove they can throw down.

Another good ep - I really enjoyed the fluidity of the running event in this episode, though a shoe that flew that high could not land that softly on Kimari's head
It's nice to see it also grounded in reality with the natural rejection, though we know they'll make it somehow, and it looks to at least be a reasonable route at that.

Hinata is a lively addition, and as always, the next and last girl is coincidentally close by. She seems a bit meek at first glance, but we'll see.

The scene where they started running was honestly brilliant. It got gave me a bit of an adrenaline rush lol.

Hinata's seems to have a lot more to her than I expected. I'm really interested to learn more about her! I loved the part where she was like 'I wasn't eavesdropping' and literally word-for-word played out their argument lol

Also, I really love these girls' interactions! That scene where they were pushing each other to go and seduce the guys was absolutely hilarious but the way it was played out felt really realistic.

Ep 2

Much like the first, I loved everything about this episode. The chemistry between the girls is excellent, despite only knowing each other for a short time. Hinata is a great addition to the crew and I was definitely surprised to hear that she is incredibly intelligent. I love her enthusiasm, willing to join the Antartica expedition for essentially the same reason as Mari.

Speaking of Mari, her little argument with Shirase really resonates with me. Her fear of failure keeps her from taking chances. It is easy to dream about the experiences that you've missed out on; there is no risk in that. Seeing her go out of her way to do something extraordinary despite those things is super cool.

The chase scene was animated beautifully and fun to watch. It's a shame the girls were brought back to reality so suddenly given the impracticality of their journey. With Mari and Hinata commandeering the operation though, I expect things to get back on track soon.

Episode 2

In order to get to Antarctica they first need to get to Australia and Mari needs to find a job to save up for a plane ticket. While looking for a part time job she manages to get one at the convenience store Hinata works at and she happens to want to join them on there trip. Turns out Hinata doesn't go to school because she already graduated and is waiting to get old enough to attend college. Later the girls go to Kabukicho in plans to sneak aboard the exhibition but are found out by two team members Gin Todo and Kanae Maekawa. Shirase knowing full well that they don't have money for the expedition is welling to pay and as a sponsor but is reject as they have some other means. While going home Mari and Hinata take Shirase role as leader away and a girl is seen hearing them.

Theres already obstacles for the girls and one of them is needing money for a plane ticket. It was sure funny how Mari didn't know about one of the jobs she planned to apply for. We sure found out a lot about Hinata this episode and she fit in the group really quick. The funniest part had to be when they started running away from the girls. Well looks like next week the fourth member will be introduced and lets how they will get on the expedition?

I'm not sure if its the chemistry between the girls or what but each of the characters feel genuine. It doesn't feel forced at all, it feels real. They aren't just one archetype but rather have more personality than first impressions let on. They act different around certain people, than when they are together. Being hesitant while also being goofy, being serious when the time calls for it. The emotion and feeling put into this, it's weird but I can feel it. It's drawing me in, there's something special going on here. I honestly pegged it to be just another one of those simple slice of life shows but there's something more here and I'm ready for it

I'll agree with that. There are individuals and true feelings being expressed in this series, far more than the usual in anime. Whether it is Mari's optimistic nature, Shirase's alternating emotions, Himata's go-and-get-im attitude, or Yutsuki's inward approach, all of them are going to work to get along and get down to Antarctica.

This is going to be one heck of a journey, and we're along for the ride of a lifetime.
