Well, people lose a sense of respect and morality and become utterly possessed with fame. Capitalising off of death and sorrow to gain a few thousand more views, such pitty.

*Finds dead body in suicide forest*

*has the fucking smart idea of filming him dead*

*Makes fucking jokes about it*

That’s a terrible way of dying being filmed by Logan Paul filming us and making fun of it.

Guy's a waste of life, no question. What's worse is that he's still got an account on YouTube. The site apparently has no problem demonetizing videos when content creators say bad words, yet this cretin still has a platform and a viewership defending him.

The whole thing smells like rat shit.

he was a douche before this
he was a douche during this
more than likely he will be a douche after this
The best thing that could come out of this is more people realizing his douchedom
what a douche

This guy is 100% scum and I feel sorry for kids who look up to him.

He's a real life version of the Pied Piper of Hamelin and it's worrying how influential he's become.

Being a "Youtube Star" seems like its synonymous with being an asshole lately.

this is what happens when people throw all human respect and common sense, prioritizing "likes" on the internet.
i'd compare this to people risking their lives just to take a selfy and upload it on facebook / instagram.

what Logan did was extremely immature, showed no basic respect for the victims. his "apology" didn't help matters, either.
this is what an actual apology should look like: pewdie apologizes
i'll still try to respect him though.

Pewdie's a shithead too but yeah, at least he doesn't bring on the crocodile tears and try to defend himself for acting like a shithead. He actually owns up to it.

Aaand this is why i watch absoluetly zero vlogs or other "look at me" ass hattery on youtube. I use it for music vidios, live news streams, documentaries and the occasional instructional vidio. If noone watches they will just wither away in the darkness.

This guy is a special kind of sociopath and probabally should be charged criminally. I defonately think the victim's family and anyone else who can make even a frivilous case in cival court needs to destroy him finantially.

Language warning for the video but I agree with it 100% on the topic. Says everything that needs saying.

that video said it all.

i've gone through a bunch of emotions [mostly anger] since hearing this story. first pissed that anyone would exploit a dead body for views, then pissed to learn he made jokes which was defended by fans as 'oh, that's how he copes' maybe it is, but from what i saw [i watched a response video that showed clips and completely blurred the body] he went there hoping to find something. maybe he was just going to make dumb suicide jokes and his friends play a dumb prank, but he found someone who recently took their life. any normal person with any empathy would turn the cameras off, run for help, call someone, help the person you don't know is alive or not. no normal person would make jokes, walk up, zoom in, and use their face [blurred or not] as the thumbnail and promote the fact they found a corpse to generate views. i don't care if he begins with 'suicide is bad' which was a tacked on bit of damage control. if he was serious, the title would be different, the thumbnail would be different, hell linking to information to help other or donating to charities but no, it was exploitative, insensitive, and sickening.

but i took a step back, and tried to come at it from his view. some douchbag who became famous, doesn't understand reality, and is desperate for views because he's come to equate views with self worth. you see one point there is a flash of 'omg why did this happen' and he looks like he could cry, but one of his douchbag friends makes a stupid joke and he snaps back to 'oh right, this is a party, lets get those views!' and that's why some small part of me feels bad he's this empty inside, lost to the fame lifestyle, and not fully aware of anything. however, it's inexcusable, and he better be punished, and not a slap on the wrist punishment. sadly, he'll have his fans and this will die down for him, but taking away his channel, or youtube issuing a fine or something, pulling their support, i don't know, but hitting him where it hurts is the only way to shake him back to reality.

finally, i'm hurt as someone who loves Japan, who has friends from Japan, who wants to visit Japan. the fact this jerk got to run around being a complete disrespectful jerk and then go to Aokigahara all 'yea! this is the suicide forest! hoary!' hurts. it hurts me knowing i might one day go to a country who already think foreigners are uncultured, it hurts the community who have to be reminded of the tragically high suicide rate, it just hurts. the fact this is a country of rich history, culture and ceremony, this one jerk boiled down to 'samuraii and tentacles, that's japan in a nutshell, lets make fun of it' [which who's surprised he did that] and this is how we as a society kick off 2018, anger, sorrow, shame, and hate. thanks for that you massive creep, i hope you disappear for a while and take a good look at yourself.

to anyone who feels depressed please, talk to someone. it's not weak to get help. i have depression, in my darkest moments i've wished to fall asleep and never wake up. at that moment, i know people saying 'it gets better' is annoying and you just want them to stop talking, but people do care about you, and people want to help you. if you feel stuck, talk to someone to help you change that. my depression was triggered by a horrible job living somewhere i hated, i moved, i found a new job, and while life isn't sunshine, it's so much better than those dark days. if you can't at this time, find little things to do to help you reach that goal. but at the very least, talk to someone.

It should be noted that YouTube themselves allowed and encouraged this. The original video was flagged for its graphic content, it was reviewed by a YouTube employee, and they made a conscious decision to dismiss it and leave the video untouched in the top 10 Trending videos until eventually Logan Paul himself took the video down. They allowed a popular YouTuber to have such a disgusting video up for a whole day but as soon as anyone else tries to upload the exact same video, YouTube quickly takes those videos down for violating their guidelines. The fact that they did this and later placed his apology video in the #1 spot on their Trending section the very moment it was uploaded (and it's still there more than 24 hours later) tells me that YouTube cares more about the money his channel makes than doing the right thing and following the very rules they made.

By the way, his apology video was his second "apology." I guess something clicked in his head and made him realize that a mini essay on Twitter about how amazing he is and how he already gets tons of views wasn't a real apology. I've never heard of this guy before yesterday but it sure didn't take long to see how big of a narcissist he is.

"PewDiePie said the 'n' word in a video? Pull all sponsors from him! Logan Paul uploaded a video that violates a major rule by showing a suicide victim's corpse close up, barely censored, displayed in the thumbnail, and proceeds to laugh at it in front of his large audience of millions of children? Let's promote the hell out of him!" - YouTube logic.
