Did that witch just break down so she doesn't have to talk or is she batshit crazy. Also Milza looks pretty pissed off but I can't wait for him to die. All that work that theo puts in, gets the Earl title and some sick loot.

Milza's motivations become flimsier with each episode. He may as well just stand there and yell "I do the bad things because I r the bad guy!" at this point.

Also I had to laugh at Marrine's sad joke of a tea party. These two paper thin idiots are all you've got on your side now? >.>

There's zero tension left in this show because the entire war still doesn't make much sense and Theo is solving major geopolitical issues by just showing up for a weekend.

Actually the war does make sense if you understand how it worked in the Record of Lodoss War:

So there should be tension even if we assume Milza goes down at some point (hopefully soon)- the question isn't if or how, but who he takes with him, or Marinne for that matter. The only major difference with this version as opposed to RoLW is the use of different fantasy tropes- RoLW made heavy use of dragons, elves, goblins, dwarfs, priests. This version uses mages, werewolves and vampires. The hero's love interest serves the same purpose though and also acts as his fighting ally rather than just a damsel in distress. It isn't that badly written a story, it's just being presented the wrong way.

So are we going to all gloss over when the Demon Lord was summoned, looked kinda female? The scene looked cut?

Even if that turns out to be what's happening here it still hinges on Marrine being an idiot and starting the war to begin with. Both kings were killed, only Marrine wanted war and her justifications for it thus far have been pretty weak. It's way too late in the series now for it to be drudging back up a "Oh right, that was totes all a really a dark plot" even if ep 1 seemingly started one. It's been all but forgotten by the show.

It's really hard to tell given that the show is basically only animating 1 out of every 5 scenes of the light novels. -.-

It's great that Milza only wins fights because everyone else never learned to use their weapons. It's also great that this is apparently Theo's fault, because he went on vacation after telling everyone that he was headed out for some 'me time'. It's not so great that they got the whole 'Academy is behind the murder of the kings' thing out in the open, though Jana kind of lost her head over being a pawn.

Yep. Got to make an excuse for their own shortcomings. Typical noble behavior.

This show has much more fan service than I had anticipated...

Episode 16 for instance. The Forest of Darkness invasion begins! Also about time Milza declared his intentions to Theo and his forces. I think this was inevitable from the start.

Episode 16

Its about time Milza starts listening to his mage and plans to draw Theo from his castle. With this the alliance comes up with a strategy to go against this and seems the Nord princess is out looking for her fathers good than Marrine's. On the other hand we get a lot of fan service when Lady Eudokia and her mage decide to ask the soldiers for help in the nude and they themselves start taking off their armor. Oh crap i did not expect that to happen and than the slave army joins Lady Eudokia side so the nord princess has to retreat for now. With Milza now in more trouble due to the lack of army we can expect his death to come soon? I can wait to see whats coming to him the fucking traitor.

Oh brother this was more eyerolling than last week's Marrianne baking the guy she sold her body to cookies episode 'Hey Eudokia your army is gone and your character is now pointless but your body is still kind of hot for the nonloli otaku (funny they had her mage say "still" hot lol) let's at least have some pointless fanservice from you before we kill or ignore you completely. Oh and I'll get naked too for the audience not into "older" women.'

I'd like to see Milza try this tactic to get out of his predicament next week LOL

The haters of sex and lovers of violence are large in the comments. Especially as the nudity here drove the plot which means it's not fan service. Unless you claim that you cannot portray sexual positive cultures or historical like cultures where they did not cover their bodies.
I loved that they finally show a woman with a real harem who loves sex. And the use of sex-positive activity to motivate a sex-positive culture.
The troops taking off their armor was not a great idea as they are not trained to fight that way but I think it very realistic they would risk their lives. And they were facing the Nords who as common for ship-based forces wear little armor. Armor sucks if you fall in the water and the need to maneuver and move with agility in ship combat make less or no armor often good on the water. Also, Armor is most necessary and helpful in mass formations that are hard to do on a ship. When things go one on one often less or no armor win.
Milza win's fights because he is like a fighter Ace maybe even an Ace of Aces. Historically there are gifted fighters that few can face. Easy comparison Basketball star players vs the normal pro player.
