Such a sweet show. It reminds me a lot of Sansha Sanyou.

Kamuri's Naruto run and the broken heart bento had me giggling.

Ep 2

I wonder why Hana doesn't want to tell her new friends about her predicament? It's not like she had to repeat a year due to bad grades or anything and mumps aren't something to be embarrassed about even with the unfortunate timing. The girls are all nice too, I doubt they'd tease her about it too much.

Tama knows her stuff concerning changes in clothing. Nothing is quite as awesome as a girl who normally wears her hair up finally letting it down for the first time and vice versa. I guess the same deal goes for socks too. Sockless Kamuri is good, but sockless Tama when?

I don't think she's worried about being teased so much as the senpai/kohai situation. Even though they'd be in the same grade she's older than them which would make her the senpai. This could change the dynamic of any friendship due to the fairly strict ways in which Japanese address one another. She's looking to have a "normal" school life so wants to avoid it getting out. As I recall from the first episode we find out it's her birthday but she never mentions how old she is leaving the class to assume she's their age.

This is the same reason she didn't want to try and attend the same school she started in. Her friends would be a grade over her thus making them technically her senpai and her their kohai. At least at school. How they'd choose to address each other outside of school is for them to decide.

Episode 3

Golden Week is here, and the girls are all doing different things as Hana is doing some exercise training with Shion, Eiko is going shopping with friends, Kamuri is staying home at her mansion, and Tama is out getting some otaku goodies in Odaiba, and then Shion goes home while Hana's parents make a visit. Then the girls have a study session at Hana's home where it happens to be Tama's birthday and things get out of hand, and Hana also gets a present since her birthday was not properly celebrated. That was some pretty nice stuff there to see these girls getting along even if Tama can be a handful.

Episode 3

The episode starts with Hana and her friends talking about what they will do during golden week. They each have plans but will get together on the last day to have a group study. We get to see how each girl spent their break like Hana jogging with Shion and her parents coming to visit. Eiko is out on a date with a girl were it looks like she teases her. Karumi is seen at home having meals by herself which is sad as her parents are busy with work? Last but not least Tama goes to comiket where she buys from her favorite circle to meeting with old friends. When it came to the study day Eiko and Karumi decide to celebrate Tama and Hana's birthday together. After saying goodbye to her friends while cleaning up Hana finds a present that her father left behind for her.

The episode was nice seeing each girl enjoy their break. The birthday party was a nice surprise. Hana even breaks down in tears as she hasn't told her friends how old she is. Eventually the day will come when she will have to tell them.

While still not a huge fan of the show overall, I have to give it some props for it's production value. This show just looks miles better than most similar shows.

Episode 4

Hana is out to deliver a package to Hiroe, and that comes across pretty awkwardly. Just like with Hana, Hiroe is also behind as she has been studying to get into college, and then something happened that caused her to miss her entrance exams. After that, she moved out and started her shut-in life while ordering everything online that includes something as everyday as scotch tape, and seeing that she doesn't have anything to wear outside the apartment that Hana's friends come over to help dress her up in something suitable for going out. And they totally overdid it making her barely recognizable, but after explaining where she's going, they dress her up in something much more modest. That was a pretty nice episode there going to show that Hana is not alone when it comes to being a year behind, but Hiroe needed a lifestyle change in the worst way.

Whoever is translating this series should be fired immediately. Even bigger cringerfest than Gabriel Dropout and Sakura Quest.
