Episode 2

Yaichi and Ayumu are having an official match, while Ai wins her first match against Mio under his apprenticeship. In an intense match with a record number of moves, Yaichi wins. The slump he was is is the result of him trying to act elegantly for the audience as a Ryuo. But after seeing Ai he finally regained the form that got him the title. And then Ai gets three other girls to train together with and Charlotte is being quite aggressive. But just when things are going well, Ai's parents have come to take her back worried that being a pro shogi player will not be a stable job. So she has the daunting task of winning all three matches against pros if she wants to stay. Pretty nice to see Ai getting along, and the other lolis having come into the fold. I'm still feeling uneasy when Ginko shows up, but at least all that lolicon crap is being kept to a minimum.

I can't stand Ai's mom....hope she doesn't get much screen time this season.

It's better than the first episode but it still needs a lot of improvement. Particularly, the comedy feels dry and the shogi games are way over the top. I'm hoping that Sora girl gets a match soon in the future.

So far not bad at all.
More development on Ai's part with new Shogi friends and conflict from the parents.

I figured this one is more of a comedy genre, so during the Shogi competition doesn't surprise me that its over the top becuase of the Knight vs Dragon theme of the opponent mindset.
But it already set the fact that our MC starts to change his attitude and seem to recover from his slump, thanks to Ai's presence.

I always hear the Meijin title but the Ryou title is as prestigious which is the focus in this title in comparison to March comes like a lion , which also featured the Shinjin Tournament for those who are 26 yo and younger and rank less than 6 dan, which Rei won.

Well since I am following 2 shogi anime, I better start memorizing those shogi pieces

The chuni shogi battle was annoying and I was tempted to just skip through it but the rest of the episode was largely enjoyable. Plus, I like the fact that the loli angle was actually played as more of a joke this episode than in the first. That might be a good sign. Ai may still have a crush on the MC but it's looking, at least so far, like he doesn't reciprocate the feelings.

In the end, though, my feelings are largely the same after Ep 2 as they were after Ep 1. If the show focuses a lot on Ai and everyone else other than the MC it will be fun. If the show focuses on the MC, it will not (and this was only exacerbated by the annoying chuni shogi match this episode).

I think I preferred the grade school shower scenes to whatever this was.

This made me feel a lot less uncomfortable compared to the 1st ep, so it was a lot more bearable. That being said, the Shogo match at the beginning with the MC and Chuunibyou guy wasn't exactly the most interesting. Maybe my expectations were raised after watching 3-Gatsu no Lion.
The scene with the blond kid clinging to the MC and Ai getting jealous felt like it was more a child getting jealous of their father/brother giving their attention to another child, rather than her seeing the girl as a potential love rival. The MC calling the girl 'cute' didn't really come off in creepy way to me either.
So yeah, if they tone it down with the creepy vibes, I think I could enjoy this.

Chuuni shogi battle was amazing and fun. Should have more of those to spice things up.

I love when Ai goes into Shogiyandere mode and just zoning out and rocking, predicting moves, etc.

The loli psuedo-harem exploded and all the girls are over-the-top cute... Especially little energetic fang girl.

I kind of hope they go a bit deeper into the actual shogi, but also managing to keep things cute and comical.

Also Ai calling the other girl obasan all the time is just great. I do hope she gets more screen time and development.

Not my favorite of the season so far, but still a show I'm enjoying thus far.

At least this show acknowledges that the loli jokes are fucking creepy. Now if only it would drop them entirely.

Half expected duel monsters to appear during the Sho-Gi-Oh! battle. Actually, would've preferred if they had. If they're going to push it that far, might as well go all the way.

I would like this series more if there was more shogi and less loli. That scene with the MC and the sleeping girls made me think for a sec I was watching a scene from the Babysitter series.

Hmm... I am curious why the age limit on becoming a pro. Does that mean there are possibly older "amateur" players who are better than the top pros but are locked out because of the age they started playing?

The Ryuo's Work is Never Done! (Ryuo no Oshigoto! )

Yaichi is playing an important match bt skips lunch to see how Ai is doing

Ai beats a fellow student Mio Mizukoshi who is a fan of Yaichi and gets to shake his hand

Mio Mizukoshi Voiced by: Yurika Kubo[

Was Yuuri in Girls Last Tour

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yurika_Kubo

Despite doing resesrch on Ayumu Yaichi has been put in checkmate / it''s eitiqutte though tp play a bit longer for the audience and Ayumu knows he is bowing to him in his moves How ever Ai is there in person and is in her trance knowing there is still a way to win

Yaichi is inspired by Ai's vision and her respect for him So he goes on the offense Instead of fighting he played the honorabe to lose thus his slump but now he rather be a sloopy winner

It goes on for awhile and is intense it goes on until 348 am and Yaichi wins with a record 401 moves

Yaichi also knew Ayumu would get tired as rises early to run a tofu shop

Yaichi expects fans to disapprove but actually had fun watching it

Ai brings her classmates Mio / Ayano / Charlotte for a visit overnight stay and training with Yaichi observing giving advice then plays them . Ai played poorly and Yaichi wants to give her another match after already saying that would be it but turned into a marathon of matches

Next morning Sor is there since thev girls are all laying around Yaichiansd she calls him Loli King but the girls like Sora too and is taken back by their eagerness

Ai is ready for the entrance exam but her parents come having changed their minds especially Ai' mother who says she can stay if she beats all 3 of her Pro opponents which is usually just a rating not if you win or lose

Ok loli haters, if two episodes in you are still complaining about the lolicon fanservice, go watch something else, this anime is not for you. This anime isn't really about shogi, and you won't learn shogi from watching this anime. This anime is about lolis. Already the MC, (who in the best traditions of lolicon animes, isn't a lolicon himself) is acting so as to nurture his loli student and not disappoint her. Eventually this teacher and protector role of Yaichi toward Ai will become stronger until he is more like a father or brother (rather than a guy who happens to live under the same roof as a little girl not related to him), and Ai will love him and probably try to f*¢# him at some point. The loli service will probably be in every single episode, that's my prediction.

My other prediction is that by the year 2025, all anime will be loli fanservice and this show is just ahead of it's time.
