Does this dude goes to watch the same movie everyday? His expression is priceless. Yeah, the episode was nice too. I hope the episodes don't lose the energy that characterize them. This one was a bit weak.

Ugh, that blond guy is a real predatory dick. She clearly wasn't enjoying his company. I hope this drama doesn't last long, as the focus on the two is what I enjoy the most.

And what a difference being with the right person can make to brighten up the same scene. I love seeing Akira being a giggling girl.

Hearing Kondo's thoughts was good too, and how he acknowledges his insecurities. If only he asked how Akira felt, but with age you get more entrenched in your own views.
If Akira was a little bit more older, would he have taken her more seriously? And what would happen if Akira told him outright that she enjoyed the date?

That blonde guy doesn't understand who he is messing with -- Akira is no wimpy pushover... by taking this harassment any further he could earn himself a swift (and deserved) kick in the nuts.

That's called dedication

That Kase guy is a real creep. I can see him blackmailing Akira even more just so he can get into her pants. Hope he gets a foot in his crouch soon.

It’s not like I’m that old myself but I can relate to Managers feelings about getting sad inside because of her youth and not being able to stand that he isn’t young anymore. It’s not like I’m constantly brooding about my age or anything the feeling just creeps in once in awhile especially shows like this.

I wasn’t expecting this to be like a total creep show lol but I wasn’t expecting it to be as charming as it is. Lol at movie dude being there twice with the same reaction.

Geez what kind of loser has to blackmail someone for a date, pretty sad the Manager just repeated it, 45 isn't that old (I keep telling myself) this guy acts like he's 60. Akira definitely needs an option D (C is the kid from her class). Also someone on this show needs to talk, were there any actual conversations that whole episode? Akira is obviously infatuated with her idea of the Manager not the real one, she needs to talk and find out about the real him and the Manager needs to tell her about himself of he wants her to get over her crush.
Also LOL at guy in suit at the movie, if it's that good now I want to see it.

Episode 4

When it comes to After the Rain so far it's been about a teen girl in love with a older man that could be her father. An innocent crush that anyone her age would go through and might get over it. Than you have this episode where someone uses that crush to blackmail someone to get a date out of them. In this example that would Akari who gets blackmailed by Kase one of her coworkers at work. He finds out about her crush on Mr. Kondo after finding the doodle in her text book. The sad thing is that she agrees to go on the date with him and you can see that she doesn't even enjoy it. What worse is that he gives her a surprise kiss on the cheek and you can see her disgust when she remembers it. This episode wasn't that bad as Akira gets that date with Mr. Kondo, but sad thing is it's exactly the same date she had with Kase. The date ends short with Kondo being asked to come back to work but Akari still enjoyed the date and she had a fantasy of kissing Kondo on the cheek. Things with Kase are still not over as he might try to get another date or more? We will just have to wait for next to see what happens.

The random businessman in the movie showings was unexpectedly amusing. He must be quite the theater enthusiast.

Things sure took a nasty turn with Kase in this episode. In a way, Kase and Tachibana share parallels in how aggressive they are in pursuing another person. Where Kase crosses the line is that he's coercing Tachibana with blackmail, forcibly/physically restraining her at times, and continuing the pursuit even when she clearly states "No!".

What also frustrated me is how Tachibana and Kondo don't seem to have fully thought this whole thing through. Tachibana's only thinking of the situation from her perspective (how wonderful this romance could be, without much thought of repercussions). Though admittedly, she's young and inexperienced. If their potential relationship is out in the open, she could lose her part-time job and potentially get stigmatized if news spread to her school. It's even worse for Kondo, as he could lose a full-time job (his livelihood), and not be able to support himself and his kid. He would definitely be stigmatized if he's dating a minor (age of majority in Japan is 18) and an employee. Looking for another job would be hell; he might have to move to another region where people don't know him. This wouldn't be easy on Kondo's kid either. It's also odd that Kondo, through his introspection, seems to worry more about Tachibana finding a 45 year old guy attractive than losing his livelihood/ability to support his family.

This show is absolutely majestic. In fact, one of my favorite shows of the season without a doubt. Aesthetically, the studio has done a beautiful job. I like the usage of color and a lot of the scenes where she is looking out the window. Those are a treat to watch and thanks to the usage of aesthetics. I feel these characters as well. On the episode she watched everyone run, and left with the rain falling down. I could feel her pain without her having to express it by subtitles. That was extremely powerful.

The other thing that works surprisingly is how both Tachibana and Kondo are viewed from us. Austershalin and a few others have mentioned it, but Tachibana has to realize Kondos standpoint. This is hard for him as well. This was farther expressed during the Bridge scene in the latest episode. I without a doubt felt it. I know I am not 45, but today as 29 and living in a College town. I meet a lot of people now 9-10 years younger than me at the Bars, clubs, etc. No lie, it does feel different when I visited the same bars when I was 21 and a bartender. So, I understand his point 100%. Tachibana for all he knows could just have a crush and I agree with that logic. The way I see it. Tachibana has plenty of time to go out adventuring before working a salary job etc. So, I really like how well constructed the anime is in terms of this and focusing on a plethora of things.

I will admit. I hate the one co worker already and hope he only lasts like two episodes LOL. But again, these are the things Kondo and her will have to face in the upcoming future, so really curious to see how this plays out and I think Tachibana is one hell of a strong character, so this is going to be good.

Love is Like After the Rain ( Koi wa Ameagari no You ni) EP 4 Gentle Rain

Akira presses Kondo for a date since they both have a sat off soon

Kase who also tutors sees Akira's textbbook and wants to look at it and Akira says Ok until she remembers it was the one she drew pics of Kondo in

Too late to keep it a secret she has to go on a date with Kase

But Akira isnt a good date for Kase who avtually gets kind of rough with her when she heys a call from Kondo and grabs her arm That kinda was worse than anything Kondo had done who in fact is trying to avoid Akira's notions .

Kondo wants to know if she wants to go / do anything special

Kase catches up to her and says it wont work out and should go out with somebody else amd kisses her on the cheek Akira quite upsey pusshes him away saying we wiil continue this some other time

Kondo / Akira go out to the same movie Kase took her to

After at the cafe Kondo feels out of place with all the young couples and he feels nothing will work between them

Episode 5

Here comes Yuto, and he's passionate about hamsters. Not to mention, the other workers at the restaurant there. And there, Akira sees what Kondo is up to when he's not at work as he has a lot of books at home. Yuto is quite a handful to deal with, and things got really awkward when Akira was hiding in the closet, but the heat forced her to come out, with her shirt getting stained in the process. Pretty amusing how things went down.

It is most curious what your love interest does in their spare time, and Akira must have felt like she was in a flat full of treasure.

And how is everyone a hamster expert?
