Episode 8

Some pedophilia wizard has turned all of the town's men into little boys as there's a curse on the town where one men a day becomes a little boy. It starts off with Mare, then Vino, Teo, and then on the same day Narek and Ruze become kids. And of course, things get out of hand when something like this happens, but at least Ani wasn't affected, so she saved the day. Once again, it's another silly episode that doesn't really have much of a plot, but it made for some amusing moments.

Episode 9

And here is the last light-hearted episode before things get serious as the final activity together is the dancing festival at Inaco. The boys are tussling to see who dances last, but in the end Ani doesn't dance at all thanks to Grimaru blowing up the scene. Now, things have gotten serious there at the end with Ani getting kidnapped just as everybody is supposed to be going home. Those thugs just showed up from out of nowhere to cause trouble, and now things have gotten serious rather suddenly.

Three princes, a noble, and a knight. Ani has amassed quite a regal harem! I don't think she's quite dense, but more knowingly rejecting their advances. Hmm, I'm not sure who I'd cheer for, but probably not Narek.

The accidental kabedon was cute (also there was an intentional one, by Mare of all people):

Episode 10

Narek's narcissism has finally caught up to him as he's being dethroned as the prince. The plan was to kidnap Ruze, but they got Ani instead, and all it means is that the new regime is going to conquer Inaco before Selanfallen. It turns out this was orchestrated by Vino's uncle as he was doing all this to put us nephew on the throwne, but Vino doesn't approve of that way of seizing the throne. Narek sure knew how to make an entrance there as he helped Ani get out, and send Grimaru to warn the Inaco citizens about the upcoming invasion. Things are getting really serious now, and Narek is being humbled after all that.

Very exciting episode. Though the end part really irked me. Neither Narek, Teo, or Ani mentioned the coup. Just mention that one word and Riot would actually listen. "Take my to my father" but not saying why? Ugghh.. I can understand that coming from Narek, but Ani should have just said it outright.

Politics sure turned ugly this episode. Loyalties and camps defined, Narek was left with the few who believe in him.

Vino regrets not airing his suspicions to Narek earlier, but I'm not sure that would've changed the course of actions. Narek and Vino would've likely stayed away from the palace, which would've played into the coup anyway. Help from Ruze is also not possible as Selenfalen is working with the coup (unbeknownst to him, since he was the original kidnapping target). Which makes me wonder if Prime Minister Chrom is the one behind everything.

Overall, quite a mess for Narek to clean up on his own.

Liking this third ED – "Treasure" by Narek (Kaito Ishikawa) & Vino (Yuuichirou Umehara). Fangirl stamp of approval.

Episode 11

Everything was made to look like Milidonia was behind the bombings so that the guy with the snake can take control of Selanfallen. As it turns out, Chrom is part of the group behind the scheme that involves using perfume to take control of Ruze's mind, but he didn't exactly approve of their methods. Just when things were looking bad, Mare came through to get Ruze to snap out of the mind control, and then Narek and Teo brought over a lot of medicine to help everybody who was brainwashed get back to themselves. And then Chrom bites the dust saving Ruze having gotten too attached to him as the bombings send everything crashing down. That was some dirty politics there, but at least everybody is now aware about who really is responsible for all this going down. One more episode left.

Episode 12 (Finale)

And to finish things up, special effects are added to the opening.

So Chrom is still alive after taking that attack, while Grimaru separates after using the last of his strength to get Ani and Narek across the canyon, but it didn't take long for him to return. In the end, Ani, Narek, and Vino reach the Milidonia forces just in time, but even that didn't convince Narek's father from stopping the attack. But with Riot appearing to protect Narek and the forces of Selenfalen coming, that convinces the Milidonia troops to withdraw. So with that, peace is back in the lands, all while Narek sheds his narcissism a bit, and the treaty is signed, while Ani and the boys go an another adventure together. Not a bad ending there, but it was very predictable and ending it just about any other way would have been inappropriate.

Final Thoughts

This show pretty much is in-line with my expectations coming given the poor track record these kinds of shows tend to get, but at the very least it was watchable despite all the problems that it has.  The show ends up being more of a comedy than anything else, and that was enough to keep me entertained.  While the comedy was good and the characters were interesting, the story felt like it is just thrown together on a whim seeing that it spends the middle of the series with all sorts of silly stuff that doesn't do anything for the show's story.  In all, it was decently entertaining, but it's not going to set the world on fire with the poor excuse of a story this show has.

Those special effects in the opening are from the otome game. Good thing we didn't have to chose a path for the princess.

DamePri is a fun and fluffy romantic fantasy story that takes few things, besides friendship, seriously. Over-the-top personalities barely fit in the scenes. Flamboyant and colorful designs with just the right amount of tease caused more than a few giggles with the reverse harem. The sexy voice acting made it even better. (Vino! Vino! ♥)

Dream team:
Kaito Ishikawa (Narek )
Yuichiro Umehara (Vino) – he was perfect in this role
Soma Saito (Ruze)
Ryohei Kimura (Mare)
Tomoaki Maeno (Teo)
Shunsuke Takeuchi (Riot)
Eiji Takemoto (Chrom)
Ayaka Saito (Gurimaru)
...and Sayuri Yahagi (Ani) [not part of the original cast... of course]

And can't forget special mention for the entertaining Breakerz OP! Shinpei couldn't tweet enough about it.

Now just waiting for the CDs to arrive in the mail... ED #2 releases in about three weeks if anyone else is interested.

Ohana-chan stamp of approval!
