Meh, didn't see anything too original here. Was pretty boring, the art was just OK and was it me or did his voice suddenly change about the time he put his cloak on? You have to really do something original for an isekai to be interesting enough for me to watch anymore and this didn't. Seeing the ED with him and a bunch of what mostly look like little girls does not entice me to come back to see how they meet. Don't think I will stick around for this.

Can we get the messages he's getting translated too? I read some people saying they are actually important plot points. One of them even says
It also would help if we could know what skills he's gaining too...

"Hmmm" about sums this episode up. Not a fan of the design of the eyes either.

Didn't you know that equipping cloaks takes points from your voice box?

Jokes aside, I thought something messed up too, but I thought just maybe...it was when his body was fully converted over to the other side, but that would be giving it too much credit.

It's no "Another World With My Smartphone", but it'll do. It'll do.

His voiced changed when he entered the other world. He went from around 30 to around 16.

The 1st episode is quite different from what I remember it from the web novels, so I'd give it at least 3 episodes.

overpowered how?
From Light Novel One

Crunchy has horrible summaries of shows sometimes images this is one. stop with the false information and either read the source material or stop spewing wrong information.

Yeah its quite unfortunate that the first impression of the show for people isn't great. The series itself is fantastic, although it needs time to develop.

Honestly, if this show doesn't work out, I'd blame the studio or anime staff more than anything else.

There's a lot of negativity in this thread. I thought this first episode was alright. But then again, I'm not allergic to isekai like a lot of people seem to be.

I've heard good things from source readers so I think it's too early to just write this off as a generic power fantasy despite what it might look like at first glance.

Just started reading it recently and have been enjoying it. Don't get me wrong - it hasn't revolutionized the Isekai genre, but I feel that Satou is definitely toned down in his actions versus someone like Touya (recent example off top of head). I'm definitely not getting a harem vibe from the point I'm at. It does seem like an oversight that they are leaving out details from the HUD.

Some people here ... jeez .... the first ep was actually a good adaptation of the first chapter of the manga ! This is the reason why i didnt want this to get an anime adapation ... the source material is actually good but yeah people talk without even reading the source for it .. Also people who call it a harem well you can tell they did not read the source .. i am stopping here before i make a spoiler about satou XD

Fu.. and another series that i read and i actually like was greenlit for an anime ... Kenja no Mago .. cant wait for people to call that generic AF

Don't worry, they will. Boring, too. Trash, even.

Though, at this point in this show, everything is a dream. Not the dream he wants, but the dream he needs.

It's just saturation. Much like harem anime which at one point I enjoyed but now if it's not something really standout I'm not interested. When I first heard about the series and the reviews the LN received I had hope. Then in the first few moments in the new world he becomes a max level, super rich, "OP" character. *YAWN!!* At least with Konosuba he had to crawl his way up the leveling ladder and in Re:Zero the "OPness" came with a pretty crappy downside.

I was worried about the reception of this series. Reading the novels and manga and spoiling stuff about this series for myself by reading tvtropes. My only hope is that they don't skimp on the details and world building.

This series starts slow I will admit that. But there are aspects that build a cool fantasty world with a history and protagonist who is fairly different in his goals and aims.

He starts out sounding like a 17 year old then suddenly starts sounding like a 12 year old. No, 10 year old. My 12 year old nephew has a deeper voice than that.

Why did he become younger anyway? Does the LN explain that or just hand wave it so the MC fits the target audience age?

Even if this series isn't a technical harem it's certainly overflowing with waifu bait.

Sorry, I'm just tired of these types of anime. But more power to those who still enjoy them and I hope Death March will meet their expectations.

Yes the light novel eventually explains why he became younger(though we may only get hints depending on how many episodes we get).
