I'll give them props for trying to expand their secondary demographic.

I am guessing a lot of CR members especially the males will look at title and skip this show? I say watch first episode and see how the writing is a pleasant surprise and episode 2 is equal in depth. I think when fans of show discuss it more this shows might gain popularity?

*cries because I know a lot of people won't watch this show*

So I thought this show would be one of those guilty pleasures/ 'cute boys doing cute things' and I was half right but I feel like there's so much more to it than that.

The core message behind this show (and the whole Sanrio Danshi brand) is that you shouldn't be ashamed about what you like, in this case, boys should have to be embarrassed that they like cute mascot characters. I'll put some spoilers for the first two eps below:

Ok look, I'm not trying to make this show seem like it's a philosophical masterpiece that gets you to think a lot; it's a fun show and it does some stupid anime things. And there's probably some baiting in there.
But, despite that, it still manages to convey its message loud and clear, and it's something very important to me.
I'm not gonna get into any sentimental shit here, but, I've had times where I have had trouble expressing my interests because I felt like it's something no one would approve of (I've been in a situation painfully similar to the MC's before). Even now, I sometimes have to remind myself that it's ok to like what I like, and that I shouldn't let anyone put me down for it.
So yeah, this show hits really close to home for me which is probably why I like it so much.

Anyway...I have to get up in like 6 hours (oops would you look at the time) so thats enough sentimental ranting for me lol (I'm sorry half of this probably didn't make sense).

Agreed. There's a surprising emotional undercurrent. Plenty of Hello Kitty and My Melody eye candy, but feels like the story will wallop me by the end. Just two episodes have me twisted and wrung already.

As a 21 year old guy who's first online communication began with Sanriotown. This series really got to me. And I'm a big fan of Cinnamoroll and My Melody.

After watching three episodes, I can safely say not to judge this anime by the looks of it. It has a main male roster but there's a lot of drama in it especially from the third episode.

The first episode didn't impress me much but now that I got into the mood of this anime, it feels like an underrated gem.

Family issues, social problems, etc have all been explored so far.

Another stellar episode that has depth and real issues-This anime might look fluffy on the outside but its all meat and potatoes inside. Definitely hidden gem early in the winter season.

Another commendable episode delving into the personal life of one of the boys.

Yuu's frustrations with the situation at home were really palpable. What I appreciated though, even if it seems trivial, was the distressed look of the apartment adding to the overall distressed atmosphere. Family drama with absent parents in a modern apartment with new furniture and top-of-the-line amenities and no visible wear and tear is annoying – that atmosphere just doesn't add to the story, but undermines its validity. On the other hand, Yuu's struggles with having to take care of his sister and the apartment were visible in both regards. It's obvious he's doing the best he can.

The writing gets better and better I am really impressed of what the writers came up with ...2 thumbs up

Not your typical shallow type of male characters of other anime in a somewhat similar genre.

Nice episode another conflict/insecurity resolved. Not wanting to have your feelings hurt would be tough to get over in single episode but anime got the basic principles down pretty good- Looks like each episode is going to single a guy out and dig deep to figure out how to help and cope?

...This is seriously turning out to be really good!

--Yuu is really a nice guy; damn his sister was such a bitch to him though

--Yoshino is a tsundere who just doesn't want to lose people.

Seiichiro is like a life coach in this show. He deserves a medal or something.
