Humans are born to live. From the moment you are thrown into the universe, you breathe, eat, drink, procreate- it is what we do as living organisms. But why would one procreate, yet alone find a reason to stay alive, without something to stay alive for? Humans don't stay alive for the sake of survival, but rather for the sake of things that bring purpose. Religion, art, music, love- in an endless oblivion of darkness in space, humans are the only species primitive enough to care. You must do what you love otherwise you suffer. It is the pathological and innate need for purpose that robs us of any lasting peace and contentment in our lives, but it is also the very thing that makes us human...that is why humans are primitive. Fuck this planet; it is a piece of shit, seriously.

I think that life is both a blessing but also a curse.
With no religion life has very little meaning or purpose, but fuck religion.
Half the world live like shit yet are happy and grateful, the other half have it good and are miserable(or ungrateful at least or victims).
We're a messed up race. We're pretty much all just modern day slaves anyway, cogs in the machine.
People blindly following the set path like sheep. Too preoccupied with trivial matters and non issues and following the main stream media and staying entertained and stupid.

And even those of us that aren't, usually do nothing about it and just go through the motions as the days pass by anyways.

Life is strange. Beautiful yet also a curse, like a cruel joke really. But it is short, so at least have some fun while you can!

Due to the nature of evolution those with genetic strains that increase their reproductive abilities children will inherit the future and propagate further. Religion seems to correlate higher rates of reproduction and so because of this those with a genetic predisposition to be more 'religious' will be 'selected' more than those who are irreligious. Meaning is advantageous but not necessarily objectively out there depending on your presuppositions.

Again

But well fuck me then because I'm not religious
And from a personal perspective, meaning is very important. But the monkey brain in my head is very strong. So I compromise; their is meaning in reproduction and raising successful offspring

You may enjoy and benefit from reading "Man's Search for Meaning" by Victor Frankl. He was a Holocaust survivor.

That's why I draw and write. No use in trying to chase something you're not enjoying. Why would I want to stress myself out trying to do something for the benefit of others when I can easily do that looking out for number 1.

Honestly, is a fucking millionaire going to hand me a million dollars? No, so why the fuck should I even bother to waste my life on something so trivial as doing something for the benefit of others. I do something so it will one day benefit others. I do something for myself, I look out for myself, because nobody will look out for you, believe it, people are greedy and cold. I don't fucking care really, I'm a nice guy but I have my limits. Yeah the world is a joke sometimes, so what? Just live the best you can, make as many connections and friends as you can, because you will need anything you can get in this world.

Primitive, yes, but who cares. I'll be dead and gone before anything major happens, so who gives a shit. Do the best you can now, and let your legacy die with you.

I will not pass down my legacy to anyone. I am the only one to truly have a vision for it.

If someone thinks they can even try, please, go ahead and show me. I always love to be proven wrong. It shows me humanity isn't a waste of time for me.

Excellent Choice
A bit cynical, but always well thought out and usually makes a good point

Sorry OP, I kind of just dismissed the topic.

I think we are all guided by some assumptions of how our actions benefit us or others. It doesn't make us primitive.

You love anime. Say someone thinks that your love of anime enriches your mind and you yourself think you're worse off without it and are indifferent to what others deem to enrich their lives.

You're better off not being a debbie downer and worry about yourself.

The very drive that makes humans rise beyond merely existing is what makes us primitive? 'kaaay.
