So let's say there was a business that sold you puppies and after it got all gross and old you could return it to the store they'd take it and give you a new puppy Would you do it?

No, I don't view dogs as accessories. The business sounds psychopathic.

Not a chance. I really love my dog and wouldn't want any dog to feel replaceable.

after I got attached, not likely. however there is a rare disorder which takes place where the animal never grows up, it stays a puppy forever. and, of course, there are the micro dogs, they stay tiny, grow up and still tiny.

I'd let my puppy go into it's twilight in my care, for sentimental reasons.

I'd love for my current puppy to stay a puppy forever. I wouldn't want a new one.

No, I would keep my dog to it's last day. I would never abandon them just because they got old. They are always there for you, so you need to be there for them until their last moments. Sure get a puppy after if you want, but don't just trade.

I know the OP was trying to be innocent in their asking this subject, but it's an extremely depressing premise when you think about it. Animals have an exceptional capacity for attachment that should never be taken for granted. Can't help but remember how my grandmother used to keep upwards of three dogs at a time and refused to let go of them until they just couldn't go any further. That was love.

That's incredibly cruel. Dogs do not lose value when they stop being puppies. In fact the one and only thing that I don't like about dogs growing up is that means that the amount of years I have with them are passing by.

I could never, and would never want to, replace a dog (or any animal) simply because it's getting older I would not care about a dog because of its age, but because of who that dog is and the bond, memories and time I've formed with it.
