Hello, fellow Crunchyroll users. I've created this forum to collect data.
For as long as I have been an otaku, I've searched for good romance anime to watch. Many others are like me, we are fed up with a dense protagonist who will never take the first step into a relationship.
My request is that any users who have seen a good romance title will not only make an entry, but will also give a brief description of he anime.

Thanks for your support!

It kind of depends on what you consider a Romance Anime. I find that anime that focus on romance tend to often not be that great at it, there are exceptions of course, as Sabrina above me posted Golden Time and Toradora are 2 great ones. On the other hand I'd say Your Lie In April isn't great for tickling that bone.

My recommendations would be in no particular order.

1) Recovery of an MMO Junkie
2) Nagi no Asukara
3) Amagami
4) Bakuman

And the following are some great mangas with good romances, but unfortunately the anime adaptations fall flat. If you feel like reading manga though, I'd recommend them:

1) Ichigo 100%
2) Magic Teacher Negima
3) Asu no Yoichi

Now if you watch the anime version of those, you will probably be disappointed. Very poor anime adaptation.

I can to recommend a few:

Toradora- as stated above is a must watch.

Kare Kano/ His and Her Circumstances is very good but hard to find.

Two with more of an action focus but good underlying romances are Eureka Seven and Fate/Stay Night UBW.

Dunno about, "Absolute Best," as that'd require more thought than I care to put into a forum post, but a few I enjoyed off the top of my head are:

Amagami SS. I'll second it, as it's a good quick-fix even if the protagonist is trash: It's essentially a "what-if" regarding what would happen if the protagonist pursued a different girl in high school. Each heroine's arc is fairly short but complete, and because they're each quite different most people will find at least one of them appealing.

Kanon (2006) is about as good as "harem" anime get. The protagonist's personality isn't your typical harem lead, in that he's fairly likable, and he actually chooses one of the potential romantic interests. Despite having some feels, it's a much happier conclusion than the visual novel it's based on, which really punches you in the gut (repeatedly) for all the routes you didn't take no matter which ending you get.

Kimi ni Todoke is probably my favorite shoujo series even if it's tooth-rottingly sweet. The protagonist is adorable to the point where even the most hard-hearted bastard would want to tell her, "fight-o," and give her a hug. Both she and her love interest are dense as bricks though, and the romance takes ages to go anywhere.

Lastly, Emma. This is one I remember liking many years ago. I suppose it's best described as, "Jane Austin meets manga / anime."

Wouldn't the classic 80s anime "Maison Ikkoku" also go on such a list?

I see a bunch of my favorite romance anime already listed but I didn't see Tsukigakirei yet. It's fairly new but a simple & charming show with a nice ending.

I would also add Kids on the Slope. It's got romance but I'd say it's more of a slice of life. A good and emotional story.

But probably my favorite rom/com is My love Story. It's been posted already but it bears repeating. A loved every second of it.

Absolutely without a doubt. But with the caveat that it's also not as easy/inexpensive to track down and watch legally in its entirety as the titles that get mentioned more often.

I'll offer

Kimagure Orange Road to the list. One of the late Hiromi Tsuruu's best roles as Madoka Ayukawa

Our Love Has Always Been 10 Centimeters Apart is really good.

It's short, only 6 21-minute episodes, but every part of the story contributes to its progression so it is a reasonably fleshed out one. The pacing never felt too fast or too slow, there are a lot of tear-worthy moments and it goes into the main characters' future as well (the side characters also all contribute to the plot rather than just being there, so that's a bonus).
It doesn't only focus on the romance but also how it affects their other interests too (painting for the girl and film-making for the guy).

I'd seriously recommend it.
