Good morning everyone! We've got some exciting news today as we announce all of Crunchyroll's biggest hit shows are now available on VRV!

Starting today, Luffy and the Straw Hat Crew are coming to VRV! We've been hearing many requests for this, and we're happy to finally bring One Piece to VRV! Watch all of One Piece with offline viewing on VRV!

What is VRV? VRV is a new video streaming service designed to bring you more.... More of the best content across anime, animation, gaming, comedy, sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and beyond. Think of it as a second way to watch Crunchyroll alongside 12 other great channels we’ve partnered with to bring you some of the best shows all in one place! Some of our partners include Funimation, Rooster Teeth, Cartoon Hangover, DramaFever, and many more!

As an anime fan, you’ll discover that VRV helps bring you even MORE anime with the Funimation channel and great talk shows about anime like Geek & Sundry’s Otaking Heads and Rooster Teeth’s Fan Service. And if you’re looking for more than anime check out Cartoon Hangover’s Bee and PuppyCat and Bravest Warriors, or Adam Savage’s incredible cosplay in Tested’s Adam Incognito, and so much more!

Haven’t tried VRV yet? Check it out on vrv.co!

Have questions about VRV? Click here for VRV FAQs.

*Note: If you are a Crunchyroll Premium member, you can have Premium access to Crunchyroll on VRV by linking your existing account to VRV. This also works the other way! So, if you get The Combo Pack on VRV and link to your existing Crunchyroll account, you’ll still have Premium access to all of Crunchyroll’s apps and Simulcasts. Just make sure you cancel your Premium membership on your existing Crunchyroll service after you purchase The Combo Pack on VRV, so you don’t get charged twice! Click here to learn more about Account Linking.

When will more Funimationnow shows be on vrv’s Funimation channel is the real question as well as account linking for Funimation and others? It sucks that crunchyroll is the only linking available and likely due to vrv being from crunchyroll. Linking is necessary for other services beyond crunchyroll since not all of their respective content for several of them if not all.

I always thought it was weird that One Piece was never viewable on VRV.

What I'm wondering now is if VRV is also going to eventually get access to the Funimation properties it's missing (most of Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Tokyo Ghoul.)

I let my Crunchyroll Premium expire and started the VRV combo pack so I can get some other stuff I've been interested in trying, like Shudder and Rooster Teeth. I still watch all my CR simulcasts here, though, since I really don't like the VRV UI.

About my experience watching offline with VRV (with a linked CR acount rather than a VRV account), on a BLU R1 Android phone: http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopic-980837/introducing-vrv-brought-to-you-by-the-people-behind-crunchyroll?pg=11#57240461

I'm told that with VRV you can only watch Funimation content dubbed (source: /forumtopic-1007641/new-catalog-titles-sengoku-basara-end-of-judgement-rosario-vampire-blessing-of-the-campanella-tenchi-muyo-ova-s?pg=4#57129861), meaning that when I resub there, for any remaining Funi catalog shows I want to watch subbed (Hyouka, Shimoneta, Afro Samurai, Pani Poni Dash, Date A Live 2, Space Dandy, My Bride is a Mermaid, Snow White with the Red Hair, Prison School, Hetalia, Eden of the East, Darker than Black, Black Lagoon, Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Speed Racer, Kamisama Kiss, Claymore, GANGSTA, Princess Jellyfish) I'd be using the Funimation app even if VRV linking were available.

EDIT: Turns out dub-only is only the case for some Funimation titles, not all.

I for one will never go back to using VRV. The account linking issues I experienced when trying it were less than ideal.

I have zero interest in paying extra for stuff I don't need on another platform. I woudln't have a problem if you merely advertised your other service in an announcement like this occasionally, but as a premium member of this site I am really getting sick of being redirected to spam VRV ad pages under the pretense of "too much traffic" on this site. I'm not sure why you think the fact you can't keep running this site smoothly would convince me to check out another service by you.

I worry they're going to push us off of CR to VRV, as opposed to doing a proper upgrade of CR (HTML 5, HTTPS everywhere, etc... oh, and an actual tech/accounting support phone number would be nice!)

I believe I asked Crunchyroll support about this at one point. I believe if I remember correctly they said that any channels involved with VRV could setup the option to allow people to link their accounts for respective channels.. If that is true the fault lies with Funimation on this one.

I mean, in a scenario like that, Funimation would essentially be giving away free premium memberships and see nothing in return outside of whatever Ellation pays them to sub-license content. Unless Ellation were to split the profits from VRV (which they won't obviously), there's literally no benefit for Funimation or any of the other channels to allow account linking.

Wait uh

Wait a minute

I'm not a morning person, maybe I'm not thinking right right now, but I thought we were talking about Funimation allowing people who aren't VRV subscribers, but are subscribed directly to Funimation, to access Funimation's content ad-free in the VRV app.

Edit: Or are we talking about Funimation allowing VRV subscribers to use their accounts to access Funimation? In that case yeah, that wouldn't make sense for them.

So is it possible for Funimation subscribers to get premium Funi access in VRV or not?

In that case, no I don't think so. Would be nice if they did though.

Yet you still can't provide One Piece to the U.K.

The UK license seems to be owned by UK company https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manga_Entertainment AKA Manga Home Entertainment, the publisher listed here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/One-Piece-Collection-Episodes-1-26/dp/B00BCKOYCM

It'd be their call whether to sublicense to CR. See this post for "rumors" about why they probably won't.

In theory, the more CR subscribers there are in any region, the more CR can afford to offer such companies for that region's streaming rights. But it's generally less than ideal, for everyone, to have multiple middlemen sharing profits.

Yeah, I get the logic behind it and the reason why CR can't host it for everyone, but it really sucks that we all can't enjoy the benefits that CR provides.
Perhaps even having it only available to premium users (As they pay for the services)
Because watching One Piece in 1080p would just be amazing.
