I used to use my bare hand until I saw some guy use his foot.

I use my bare hand. And then I wash my hands, as it is good after-toilet-use practice anyway.

Most places I'd need to use a public toilet have infrared automatic flush systems installed these days, so it's kind of a moot point. But if that's not an option I'll generally use some paper to do it and toss the paper into the swirl.

With that established, can we all agree that there should never, ever be a pull handle on the exit side of the main door to any public toilet? What's the point of washing your hands if you can't just push with your elbow or back to exit the room?

Foot whenever possible. Toilet Paper if not possible. After washing your hands, if there's a paper towel dry with that and use the slightly-damp clean towel to open the exit.

Handles opening inward on a bathroom are inefficient from the standpoint of germ spreading. But not inefficient from the standpoint of avoiding smacking other people in the face suddenly if they were walking past or approaching the bathroom door.

Perhaps, but then if everyone just opens the door slowly instead of barrelling in or out that shouldn't be a particularly common problem.

I don't use public restrooms. I have Ocd and have to shower every time I use my OWN bathroom.

I tend to use my foot, even though I scrub my hands to hell when I am done. I also do the same at my house. My brothers never washed there hands, and it scarred me. I always wash my hands or any objects that people touch in my room. I also open my bathroom door using my shirt. If I am not wearing a shirt, I open the door and then wash my hands again if I hadn't opened it before washing my hands.

I don't use public bathrooms, I'd rather go in a forest.
